A newborn baby boy wrapped in white clothing placed inside a polythene bag was dumped at the back-yard of a compound in Jemtok Street, along Ago-Palace Way, Okota, Lagos. The baby was believed to have been dumped by an unknown person, probably a mother. He was discovered at around 8p.m. on November 24, 2013, Sunday.

Angola Officially Bans Islam, Destroys All Mosques

According to several Angolan newspapers, Angola has become the first country in the world to ban Islam and Muslims, taking first measures by destroying mosques in the country.

“The process of legalization of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, their mosques would be closed until further notice,” Rosa Cruz e Silva, the Angolan Minister of Culture, was quoted by Agence Ecofin on Friday, November 22.

A Niger State magistrate court sitting in Minna, the state capital, has sentenced one Isah Aliyu to five years imprisonment for intending to sell his 9-year-old child for N10m. The 30-year-old man attributed his action to poverty. The incident occurred on November 15 when the buyer, one Mallam Magaji, agreed to buy the child for N7 million.
