Austrailian Negotiator Exonerates Buhari, El-Rufai as sponsors of Boko Haram


Stephen Davis, an Australian hostage negotiator who spent some time in Nigeria trying to secure the release of more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram militants in Chibok, Borno State, told SaharaReporters that he stands by his widely reported allegations that former Governor Modu Sherriff of Borno State and a former Chief of Army staff, General Azubuike Ihejirika (ret.), were among the top sponsors of the Islamist insurgents who have massacred thousands of Nigerians and foreigners and made the northeast part of Nigeria a highly militarized zone. 

In an extensive telephone interview with SaharaReporters yesterday,asked whether Mr. El Rufai and former military ruler, Muhammadu Buhari, had a hand in funding or sponsoring Boko Haram, Dr. Davis said their names have not been mentioned to him by any Boko Haram connections.

Assassins killed UNILAG Security Chief at Beer Parlour

                                 

Suspected assassins have killed the Head of Operations, Security Unit, University of Lagos, Mr. Sunday Adejumo.The 50-year-old was shot dead at a beer parlour on Oyenuga Street in the Akoka area of Lagos on Friday evening.

According to Punch, Adejumo on the fateful night was in the joint with three of his friends when some strange faces stormed the pub.They were said to have headed straight for their target where he sat and hit him in the chest, before firing shots at him.The gunshots were said to have caused confusion in the area.The deceased died some minutes later because he could not get help on time.

This is the first photo of Olu-Ibukun Koye ,the Nigerian diplomat working for ECOWAS, who escaped quarantine in Lagos and left for Port Harcourt .

He was one of the first who made contact with Liberian, Patrick Sawyer.Olu then defied instructions and ran to Port Harcourt to meet late doctor Iyke Enemuo who treated him in a hotel. Shortly after he was treated,he returned to Lagos where he was certified Ebola free.Ironically, Dr Iyke fell ill and died. His wife opened up and his corpse which was taken to a mortuary was tested positive for Ebola.
