A Brit who was officially the fattest man in the world has died, it emerged today. Keith Martin - who weighed an astonishing 70 stone at his heaviest - died from pneumonia following a lengthy battle with his weight. His death at the age of 44 came just eight months after Keith had undergone a successful gastric sleeve which removed three-quarters of his stomach.

The surgeon who tried to save his life with life-changing weight-loss surgery is calling for the government to swiftly impose a fast-food tax.

Unemployed Keith admitted much of the weight had come from eating huge amounts of super-cheap fast food.

Wow!  Mum shocks midwives as she gives birth to 14pound baby girl. According to the UK Daily Mail, a pregnant mother who thought she was expecting a small seven pound baby ended up giving birth to a daughter who tipped the scales at huge 14 pounds.

Alisha Hernandez of Alamosa in southern Colarado went into labor on Monday and gave birth to Mia Yasmin Garcia by caesarean section at the San Luis Valley Hospital. But Miss Hernandez and midwives who helped deliver the baby were shocked when baby Mia arrived looking a lot larger than they first thought she would be.

Plane Loaded with arms seized in Kano

A Russia-made Antonov plane, with six crew members and loaded with two helicopters parts and other sophisticated weapons, allegedly travelling to neighbouring Chad Republic, was intercepted at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano State, by security operatives on Saturday.

Tribune  reports that, the dangerous items discovered in aircraft included two sport utility vehicles.The large number of weapons included AK 47 rifles and other weapons.

According to a source, that preferred anonymity, the plane arrived at the MAKIA between 9.00 am and 10.00 a.m.The said plane was alleged to have developed a technical problem when the eagle-eyed security operatives suspected it to have illegal items on board.Security sources said the crew did not make full disclosure of content of the cargo.
