Nigerian man sentenced to death by hanging for drug trafficking in Malaysia

A 37 year old Nigerian man, Ibe Godwin Uzochukwu has been sentenced to death by hanging in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after he was found guilty by a Malysian high court for trafficking 2,150.4 grammes of methamphetamine. He was arrested with the drugs at KL International Airport (KLIA), Sepang in 2011.

N1m offered victim's family after 85 year old man rapes 7 year old in Edo...

The Edo State Command has arrested an 85-year old man for allegedly defiling a seven-year old girl at Use, Ogida Quarters in Egor Local Government Area. It was learnt that the incident, which was reported at the Ogida Police Division, had been transferred to the police headquarters for further investigation. The mother of the victim, Endurance Ogieva, a rice hawker, alleged that she was offered N1 million by relatives of the suspect for the case to be withdrawn.

In a chat with reporters at the police station, Mrs. Ogieva said the act was committed at the home of the suspect, where she left her children with her sister. She said blood and semen were found around her daughter’s private part when she caught the suspect standing naked over the girl.

President Jonathan earns N43m as salary in 3 years,paid N6.2m as Tax

For presiding over the affairs of Nigeria as its president in the last three years, President Goodluck Jonathan has pocketed N43, 230, 871.44  million as salary. In the same vein, he had within the last three years,paid N6.2 million as tax to the country. Vanguard reports that ,Details of the president’s tax payment also showed that the president did not earn any other income besides his fixed income as president of the country in that period. There were no indications of income from stocks or other businesses that the president could have had.

Despite earning a regular service of N14, 410, 290.48 in each of the three years, the president tax liabilities however increased in 2012 and 2013 to N2, 510, 775. 77 up from the N1, 242, 670.21 paid in 2011.
