Emmanuel Adebayor released by club on compassionate leave

                  

Who would blame them????? Following his disturbing and emotional Facebook posts where he revealed a lot of family drama, footballer Emmanuel Adebayor has been granted compassionate leave by his football club, Tottenham Hotspur, for a second time this season to return to Togo to sort out all his family issues.

Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino excused Adebayor from training this week and the final game of the season against Everton on Sunday May 24th. He will also not travel with his team on the post-season tour to Malaysia and Sydney.

PDP Elected House Of Rep Member Loses Seat Over Certificate Forgery

                                     

A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, elected member of the House of Representatives, Christian Abah, has lost his seat after a Federal High Court in Abuja today directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to invalidate the certificate of return earlier issued to him due to certificate forgery. 

In his ruling, Justice Adeniyi Ademola, in the suit filed by Hassan saleh, contesting Abah’s eligibility to stand for the election, held that the allegation of certificate forgery levelled against the first respondent (Abah) has been proved to be true beyond reasonable doubts.

The Assistant Superintendent of Police arrested on rape charges

The Assistant Superintendent of Police, Osiele Police Post, Abeokuta, Ogun State, John Mafoya has been arrested and is being interrogated  at the state police command headquarters for allegedly raping a student of the Federal College of Education, Osiele, identified simply as Oluwaseun.

What happened was, on Thursday, April 30, policemen from the Osiele post arrested Oluwaseun for her involvement in a mob attack on a serving member of the National Youth Service Corps in the college, identified only as Oladimeji because he allegedly made sexual advances at a female student, who had visited him in his apartment in the Abule Obantoko area of Abeokuta.

The Nigerian Air Force on Wednesday said Muhammed Shuaibu suffered in the hands of four of its officers because he broke the rule. Shuaibu, a Protocol Officer of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, was tortured by some officers of the air force at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, on Sunday.

But the Command Public Relations Officer, Logistics Command, NAF, Joel Abioye, said Shuaibu suffered for breaking the rule and seeking to use his position to outsmart the officers.
