President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu as the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

 Dr. Kachikwu, who hails from Onicha-Ugbo in Delta State,was the Executive Vice Chairman and General Counsel of Exxon-Mobil (Africa).The new NNPC Chief Executive is a First class Law graduate and also has Masters and Doctorate Degrees in Law from the Harvard Law School.

Cameroon has Exiled more than 3 thousand Nigerians in fight against Boko Haram

Cameroon has expelled more than 3,000 Nigerians as part of the fight against Boko Haram, officials said on Tuesday. Cameroon's government spokesman Issa Tchiroma Bakary said suspected Boko Haram fighters disguised as refugees with explosives hidden in their luggage were arrested at a camp in northern Cameroon Monday. They deported Nigerians who said they were refugees but were not staying at camps and lacked identification papers.

"In the different villages there is a certain population of foreigners and they are hiding behind some Cameroonians and hiding those Boko Haram suspects," 

Midjiyawa Bakary said.Women, children and men were taken across the border to the Nigerian town of Mubi, he said.

In Nigeria, many of those expelled said they were forced out quickly.

Governor Ambode appoints 19 new permanent secretaries+ Full list of Names

                               

Press statement from Lagos state government...Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has approved the appointment of 19 new Permanent Secretaries in the State Public Service. In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Habib Aruna, the appointments are in line with the Governor’s drive to restructure the civil service for efficient performance and service delivery. The development is also coming on the heels of the streamlining of some existing Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) aimed at ensuring greater efficiency. The new Permanent Secretaries, the statement said, have been deployed across board in the new structure of the civil service.
