The Nigerian Army Reinstates over 3000 dismissed soldiers

                    

The Nigerian Army has reinstated not less than 3,032 dismissed soldiers who were dismissed for failing to engage Boko Haram members. Most of the soldiers were dismissed after they rebelled due to poor weapons to the terrorist sect. 

MDCN Arrested Fake Female Medical Doctor Arrested in Abuja

                       

The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has arrested the first female fake doctor in Nigeria. According to Daily Trust, the woman, Angela Njide Nwosu who had worked as a doctor for years using forged documents, was arrested on the first day of her new N280,000 a month job at a newly opened private hospital in Bwari council area in Abuja after her new employees demanded MDCN to verify its new staff doctors.

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission to probe Fashola, Akpabio, other Governors

                           

The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission, ICPC, has set up a task force to immediately probe eight former state governors. According to Punch, a top operative of ICPC, who confided in their correspondent said that the task force was set up following petitions written against the former governors.

Former DSS Spokesperson, Marilyn Ogar compulsorily retired

                             

A former spokesperson for the Department of State Security, Marilyn Ogar, has been compulsorily retired from the agency effective from yesterday September 2nd. According to reports, Ogar alongside some other top executives were handed a letter of retirement.

11yr old daughter of Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque poisoned to death

                         

The daughter of Chief Imam of Bauchi Central Mosque, Alhaji Ahmed Baban-Inna, Hajara Ahmed was allegedly poisoned to death on Monday by a man whose identity was given as Jarelu Ahmed, NAN reports.  According to Bauchi Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Haruna Mohammed, who spoke to NAN on Thursday, the 30-year-old suspect buried the deceased in his room after killing her.


"On Monday,August 31, at about 18:00hrs,Police Detectives attached to Township Division in Bauchi, arrested one Jarelu Ahmed, male and 30 years, of Railway road, Bauchi.

USAID Announces Stephanie Linus As Ambassador for the ‘Stop Violence Against Women In Elections’ Campaign

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI), a US-based International Agency, on September 1st 2015, announced A-list actress, producer and director Stephanie Linus as the Ambassador for the ‘Stop Violence Against Women In Elections’ Campaign.

Her formal presentation as an ambassador took place yesterday at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja. The event was attended by the Acting INEC Chairman Hajiya Amina Zakari, the former Deputy Governor of Plateau state Mrs Pauline Tallen, the NDI Country Director Jasper Veen, the Team Leader of Democracy and Governance USAID Blair King, a representative of the Inspector General of Police Solomon Arase amongst others.
