Bayelsa State Government declared 7 days of mourning in honour of its Former Governor


Bayelsa state declares 7 days mourning as flags fly at half mast for Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, who passed away last Saturday and directed that flags in all public buildings and premises across the state be flown at half mast.

The Bayelsa State Government, in a statement by Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Esueme Dan-Kikile, said within the period of mourning, all its official engagements will be cancelled.

A Seminole County judge sentenced a man to 885 years in prison for child pornography


Man sentenced to 885 years for possession of a massive amount of child pornography, Attorney General Pam Bondi's Office of Statewide Prosecution announced on Monday. Shawn Ryan Thomas, 31, was sentenced to 885 years in prison on 59 counts of possession of child pornography, 15 years for each count.

According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Thomas communicated online with an informant regarding a disturbing plan to kidnap a child, kill the parents and sexually batter the child while filming the acts to produce child pornography.

Man who was allegedly brutalized and accused of robbery cries out over inhumane treatment

                        

A man, Mr. Daniel Owie, who was allegedly brutalised and shot in the leg by some soldiers in Benin, is crying over the inhumane treatment he is receiving from the Nigerian Army.
 In a petition to the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, the victim appealed to him to investigate the alleged murder attempt on his life and the breach of his fundamental human rights by a group of soldiers led by a yet to be identified captain in Benin.

In the petition forwarded by his counsel, Mr. Benjamin Iluobe, Owie called on the IGP to direct the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Chris Ezike, to thoroughly investigate the abuse of power by the Army Captain and his soldiers.
Mr. Owie is currently chained to the bed allegedly on the orders of the Army Captain is receiving treatment at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) with 2 soldiers watching over him.

A gang of two robbers were apprehended and beaten by an angry mob


Two robbers nabbed along IBB Way, along IBB way Maitama, Abuja on Tuesday Oct. 6th. The robbers, using a power bike, attempted to snatch a bank customer of undisclosed sum of money he'd just withdrawn from a bank along IBB way maitama.
