 Ruqayyat Tijani Usman, pictured below, lost her civil service job with the Nasarawa State government Ministry of Justice on Thursday after she blasted them on Facebook and the government got to know about it.  She took to Twitter last night to break the news.

Ruqqayat had gotten furious when news broke that her close friend who was a medical doctor named Ibrahim Oshafu at Dalhatu Specialist Hospital (DASH) Lafia, Nassarawa state was confirmed dead after treating a patient with Lassa Fever.

DASH is the only specialist hospital owned by the Nassarawa state government.

At that time also, organised Labour in Nasarawa was on industrial action over non payment of salaries, half payment of salaries to local government workers and non payment of staff benefits.

Globacom Reacts To Reports of Company Sacking P-Square as Brand Ambassadors

 Nigeria’s biggest indigenous telecoms operator, Globacom, has rubbished reports circulating online that it has sacked one of its brand ambassadors, P-Square.

It should be recalled that blogosphere was awash with reports of the purported sack of the pop duo during the week. It was alleged that the company fell out with one-half of the group, Peter, over his conduct during the grand finale of his sponsored reality show, Glo Dance With Peter late last year.

Peter reportedly insulted officials of the company for failing to keep to their own side of the bargain regarding the competition. And when the honcho of the company, Dr. Mike Adenuga heard about the incident, he was furious, and declared that P-Square should be dropped as ambassadors.

However, a trusted source in Glo revealed to Showtime that the telco is yet to take a decision on the fate of P-Square with the company. The source also stated that this situation is not peculiar to P-Square alone as the company is presently deliberating on whether or not to renew the contracts of the ambassadors whose deals are up for renewal.

Speaking further, the source assured Showtime that a decision on the company’s brand ambassadors would be reached in a couple of days.

Female Student Savagely Bites Off Fellow Student's Nose in FUTO(See Photo)

 This allegedly happened on February 24th in Hostel C of Federal University of Technology, Owerri. According to an eye witness, a female student from SAAT (School of Agric and Agricultural Technology) bit off the nose of another student during a fight in the hostel.

It's not clear what happened, but someone claimed the fight was over fetching of water. The girls began insulting each and it degenerated into a fight and the lady on the left allegedly bit off the nose of the lady on the right...part of the nose actually fell off...

"After the fight, the victim was rushed to the school clinic but unfortunately, she was rejected and was referred to the Federal Medical Centre Owerri for proper and effective treatment and surgery. For bleeding to stop, the medical team at FMC had to cut some flesh from her laps." a student said.

As at now, the matter is still under investigation to know the real cause of the fight.
