I Have No Feelings Whatsoever Towards My Dad - Actress Yvonne Nelson Reveals

Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has said she has no feeling whatsoever towards her father, and he is just like any other random person to her.
According to the actress who was once in a relationship with Nigerian musician, Iyanya, her father was never there for her and her mom raised her alone. Now they have each others phone number but there is no love between them and he is just like any other person. Here's a quick chat she had with Punch Spice.

Background

I am a Ghanaian actress, film producer, entrepreneur and a former Miss Ghana contestant. I earned a degree in Human Resource Management at Central University College in Ghana.

Acting

I landed my first movie role shortly after I participated in the Miss Ghana beauty pageant in 2005. I also won a two-year contract as face of Maxim Cosmetics in Ghana and got a role in the TV series, Fortune Island. My first lead role was the title character in the movie, Princess Tyra. I don’t see myself quitting acting anytime soon because I am extremely passionate about it and I have so much more to achieve as an actress. Continue....

Family

My mother raised me single-handedly and she means the world to me. I am the last child and I have three siblings. She saw me through school and till date, she calls and checks up on me on a regular basis because she is concerned about my welfare. She is like my friend and I even call her Charlie.

Father-daughter relationship

My dad was not a part of my life because he wasn’t there for me. So, I almost do not say anything about him because there is no relationship or love between us. My dad is like any other person out there because I didn’t have a chance to develop a relationship with him. We have each other’s phone numbers and he calls me when he feels like talking to me. It always feels like talking to a random person because there are absolutely no feelings whatsoever.

Forgiveness

Sometimes our society makes it hard for us talk about things like this. But, it’s my story and I don’t have any other way to say it and I don’t want to sugar-coat it. He was never a part of my life and it is quiet unfortunate. We actually have an ‘okay’ relationship and it’s not like I won’t talk to him if I see him today. But it ends there because we do not have a relationship. Talking to him is akin to talking to someone you don’t know.

Projects

I am currently more involved in productions and I have just produced my sixth project- a TV series titled Heels and Sneakers. I decided to shoot a series because I wanted to try my hands on other things.I am very excited about this project because 90 per cent of the cast involved is new. I have shot season one and we have seven more seasons to go. I know it’s risky to cast totally new faces but I am of the opinion that when you have a good product, it will sell. I was also a newcomer up until Abdul Salam Mumuni, gave me an opportunity to play a lead role in his movie in 2005.He also gave me a chance and put me on the movie poster. That turned out to be one of the biggest movies in Ghana. So, this is my own little way of giving back.

Challenges

We all come across challenges day in day out but I have learnt to stay calm when faced with something I have absolutely no control over. I always stay positive and shut out all the pessimism around. Sometimes, I go on my knees and pray to God.

Weight loss

I decided to adopt a healthier lifestyle, so I now go to the gym with my mum,  I jog and eat healthy. I went down to a size six from a size 12. Negative comments about my weight loss didn’t really bother me. You don’t need to abuse me because you are not used to seeing me look a certain way.

Strength

I don’t even have enough time to visit blogs because my social media accounts keep me busy. I run my Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat accounts by myself. I am also involved in my productions and sometimes they take the entire day. So, I don’treally have time to bother about critics.

Beauty

I hate make-up and I usually tell my friends that I wish we could just walk around barefaced and no one would judge us. But, that is not the case anymore, as everything has to work a certain way; you need to contour your face and ensure that you look good all the time. I use a special face wash and scrub. I think the most important beauty item for me is my foundation. This is because it covers even the tiniest spots on my face.

Revert To Old Pump Price Or We Will Begin Total Strike - NLC Threatens FG

The Nigeria Labor Congress, NLC, and its affiliates which includes the Trade Union Congress, TUC, have given the Federal government a 96-hours ultimatum to revert to the old pump price of N86.50 or face a total strike that will begin on Wednesday May 18th.

At a meeting held in Abuja yesterday, NLC President, Ayuba Wabba, said if the government failed to revert to the old price and stop the deregulation of the oil sector by midnight of Tuesday May 17th, the workers would have no option than to embark on a total strike by Wednesday May 18th.

“Since there has not been any increase in salaries, wages or pensions of workers in the past five years, and in the face of devaluations, spiraling inflation and other vagaries of the economy, the increase in fuel price is unrealistic, unaffordable, unacceptable, and is thus rejected. It is evident that the neo-liberal forces in the government have taken over, and we should expect more inhumane policies which will further degrade the living standard of the average Nigerian. The punitive electricity tariff and PMS product prices may just be teasers. The price hike from N86:50 to N145, representing 67.63% increase, is the height of insensitivity and impunity as there was no previous consultation with stake holders, especially the organized labour, or any justification for this reckless decision other than the fact that government believes it is accountable to no one"he said

Tyga Speaks On Split With Kylie Jenner & Blac Chyna’s Pregnancy

Rapper Tyga has spoken out about his split with Kylie Jenner hinting that their age gap may have played a part.
There’s been lots of speculation surrounding the couple's recent split with the Rack City rapper saying he 'will always love her' despite their decision to go their separate ways.

According to reports in the US, the pair split because the 18-year-old could no longer handle his "lies" and "struggled with trust issues".

But when asked by TMZ in a candid video interview about why the two were no longer together, Tyga, 25, takes a long time considering the suggestions their age gap was one of the reasons.

He avoids answering the question directly instead saying in the clip: "I think, you know, We're both just focused on our individual lives right now and sometimes things don't work out but I love her."

Asked whether there would "always be love" between the pair he was happy to answer with a nod: "For sure, yeah."

The rapper also addressed the news his ex Blac Chyna is expecting a baby with Kylie's half-brother Rob, asked how he felt he laughed before answering: "People grow and evolve.

"Everybody should have the opportunity to have love and live they life."

He did refuse to answer how he thought Rob would be as a step-father to his three-year-old son King Cairo adding: "No. You've gone too far."

Family And Friends Abandon Alleged Wife-killer Lekan Shonde

Lekan Shonde, 44, who is alleged to have killed his wife, Ronke Bewaji Shonde, now appears to have been abandoned by his family and friends to his fate.

Lekan is in the custody of the police at the Panti headquarters of the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Lagos State Police Command.

Sunday Sun gathered from sources that no one from the Shonde family had come to visit him. The only visitors were the slain wife’s Bewaji family and the couple’s children. The source also expressed concern that one-sided information was being put out when the autopsy report had not determined the cause of death of the deceased.

Lekan Shonde allegedly fought with his wife penultimate Thursday night and bolted away. Her corpse was found lying on the floor on Friday morning, by the family nanny when she came to resume work for the day, and met the children crying and saying that they could not wake up their mother.

The result of Ronke's autopsy is being awaited while Shonde is being held in police custody.
