Messy! Adultery Scandal Rocks Popular Nigerian Pastor Sunday Adelaja’s Church

Pastor Sunday Adelaja, the founder and senior pastor of one of Europe's largest churches, The Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations church in Kiev, Ukraine, is currently battling a messy adultery scandal following allegations that he had extramarital affairs with at least 20 women in his church and confessed to it.

Adelaja, who boasts among his congregants - former Mayor of Kiev Leonid Chernovetsky, is regarded as one of the most successful pastors in Europe with more than 25,000 members and 700 daughter churches in over 45 countries.

On the church's website, he is pictured with a number of influential world leaders, pastors and entrepreneurs such as former President Bill Clinton, actor Mel Gibson, Richard Branson and Bishop
T.D. Jakes.

Right now, he is under fire to step down as the spiritual head of the church but the pastor has denied all allegations leveled against him, saying it is an attempt by some people to take over the church from him.

According to the Russian Union of Christians of Evangelical Faith, Adelaja confessed to having committed adultery after a number of female parishioners came forward and revealed his affairs with them to other area pastors.

The pastors then made the revelations public, saying in a statement:
"At a meeting of pastors and board of elders of the Ukrainian church 'God's Embassy' on 23 March in Kiev, the famous preacher Sunday Adelaja confessed that for a long time he lived in the sin of adultery and that he repented before the audience''.

Apostle Ulysses Tuff of The Way The Truth and The Life Christian Center in Decatur, Georgia, who was reportedly providing spiritual care for Adelaja and his church for several years, announced the influential preacher's defrocking and removal from all forms of ministry "until restoration." Only to be shocked by the pastor's reactions.

Anatoly Belonozhko, who insists he only learned of Adelaja's failure last December, resigned as a bishop with the Embassy of God in March because he does not believe Adelaja wants to be helped.

"We, as a church elder, began to create new projects and exercises to heal and restore the church, a new structure, and of course, help to our pastor. But Pastor Sunday in writing categorically rejected our help … humiliating us and saying that we have no power to tell him what to do and how to do it and that he knows how and what to do," he wrote in a translated statement.

Apostle Tuff also concluded in a statement released by the Russian Union of Christians of Evangelical Faith that Adelaja was unrepentant and refuses to submit to spiritual and moral authority.
"During my meeting with Pastor Sunday and his wife (Pastor Bose), Pastor Sunday said that I should just tell him what to do, and he will do it," explained Tuff in the statement.
On deeper investigation, however, he said he realized that Adelaja had deceived him.
"Initially, Pastor Sunday informed me that he left the service, and no longer appears in the church, and he also said that he repented in front of all the victims. I found that all these actions were superficial," said Tuff.
"Pastor Sunday mentioned that he had a relationship with 20 or 30 women, probably, the number was more, he could not remember," noted Tuff.
Tuff said he met with a number of Adelaja's victims and they concluded that he needs "psychiatric help."
"I talked with many women (married and unmarried), as well as with their husbands, and they shared with me the pain, described how pastor supervises them, and how he manipulates people.… All the stories were equally horrific, disgusting and depressing. People are very sorry about the current situation with the pastor and wanted him to have psychiatric help," said Tuff.
Tuff explained that on March 23, he shared a course of discipline with Adelaja based on scriptures from 1 Timothy 3: 1-7; 5: 17-25 and Titus 1: 5-9. He said he pointed out to Adelaja that his actions not only defiled his own marriage but "a lot of other couples and unmarried women whose lives may be totally destroyed that could lead to the fact that all these people are away from the LORD."

He said he told Adelaja:
"Pastor, you have sinned against God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), you have violated the Word of God and perverted it to [your] own lustful purposes, you have sinned against [your] wife, [your] children, against the married and unmarried women, against the church 'Embassy of God,' the Body of Christ at the local, national and international levels, as well as against me, Apostle Tuff delivered by God as your spiritual cover. Your fall was known in the church, we must resolutely deal with it according to the scriptures."
Tuff, however, was not satisfied with Adelaja's response to his counsel and resigned as his "spiritual" father, according to the statement.
"Apparently, Pastor Sunday does not feel any pangs of conscience, and does not realize the seriousness of his sin and abomination," said Tuff. "I will continue to pray for him and his family."
Pastor Sunday Adejala and his wife

Pastor Adelaja however denied all allegations leveled against him, saying it is an attempt by some people to take over the church from him.

“That is not true at all; I have read what people are saying about me. The funny thing is that nobody asked me for any information; no interview was granted to anyone,”
Debunking all allegations against him, Adelaja told SUNDAY PUNCH in an email:
“It is actually an old story that was cooked up by some disgruntled members of my leadership team when they knew of my decision to hand over the church because of my plan to return to Africa.

“So, it’s a leadership tussle from those whose desires for church leadership were not granted. I’m happy with my wife. The church here in Ukraine is doing well. So I thank God that their stories though believed by some without confirmation is still false nevertheless.''

'I Never Collected Money From IK Uche While We Dated' – Uche Jombo

Nollywood actress/producer Uche Jombo, who recently celebrated her fourth wedding anniversary with her Puerto Rican husband, Kenney Rodriguez, has refuted claims she was financially dependent on ex-boyfriend Ikechukwu Uche.

Speaking with Kehinde Bankole of Broadway Africa recently, the ‘Wives on Strike’ actress said:
‘It’s always insulting to me, that line of thought, because even while I was in that
relationship, I had members of his family think some of my cars were his…. and he has never given me money, which he knows. Never!’, she emphatically stated.
She further clarified:
‘I have been working since I was 14 years old. I personally saw myself through school, not just me, even my younger ones. So, I have always been my own person, I have never needed a man to define me and I have always known that whoever I ended up with is the lucky one.

‘When I walked out of that relationship and said I was done, I wasn’t interested in what anybody was saying. I was done. At a point I said to myself, I would rather invest this time in me and in my company.‘

She however had affectionate words to say about her husband of four years.
‘When I met Kenny and I saw the relationship he had with his mum, I totally knew he was husband material. The way you treat your mum tells a girl how you can treat her,’ she recalled.

‘If you don’t have respect for your mum, you’re never ever going to have respect for your wife.’
The popular actress and Kenney are blessed with a child.

Spain-based woman Accuses Wife of a Native Doctor of Bathing Her With Acid, Shares Photo

31 year old Spain-based woman, Marbel Mark from Edo State has accused the wife of a native doctor she engages in Nigeria, of bathing her with acid out of jealousy.

Vanguard reports that Marbel who was married to a Delta state born man who is also based in Spain, said she visited Nigeria in October 2015 for holiday and while in Edo state, decided to engage the services of a native doctor at Sakpoba Road, Benin City.

In the course of their doing business with the native doctor, the wife of the native doctor became apprehensive of her constant visits to the man and accused Marbel of having an affair with her husband. Marbel refuted the claim but the wife of the native doctor would have none of that.

According to Marbel, the native doctor's wife feared she was out to lure her husband and take him with her back to Spain. The native doctor’s wife managed to get a hold of Marbel’s husband phone number in Spain and called him to report the matter to him. It was gathered that the incident caused problems between Marbel and her husband.

This however took a different turn for the worse when some unknown persons stormed a salon where Marbel was having her hair done and poured her acid on her face. Marbel was rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) for treatment before she was flown back to her base in Spain for surgery. It was amid this tragedy that the victim was said to have sued her husband for divorce, which was said to have been granted by a court in Spain.

Marbel, who is still receiving treatment in a Spanish hospital is appealing for justice from Edo State Police Command. Marbel in a telephone interview said
" I have spent so much hospital bills to save my life due to the wickedness of somebody. I have petitioned the state Police Command through my lawyer. I am only appealing for justice. The police must apprehend the person that bathed me with acid and those that sent them. I have spent all I have on hospital bills so I cannot equally be denied justice in Nigeria. I only came on holiday but look at what I got in return. I need the prayers and help of everyone, particularly the police so that those behind this will be apprehended. I am in pains and those behind this should not go unpunished. And I appeal that the investigation should be accelerated because justice delayed is justice denied. Life has become so frustrating but I thank God for his mercies"
The Edo state police command have invited the said native doctor's wife for interrogations. Meanwhile Spokesman for the state Police Command, Abiodun Osifo, has called on anyone with useful information to come forward.

“We appeal to members of the public to help us with useful information because, without information, the police can do little or nothing. This is a crime against God and humanity and we must not condone it. How can somebody bath a fellow human being with acid? Even if the person is your enemy, does that make sense? Such people must face the law no matter where they are hiding. You cannot run forever. I believe the police will uncover the suspects and bring them to justice”he said

Von shared the pic and captioned it:

The accident had happened at about 4am on the fateful day as Von was on his way back from a quick strategy meeting. His car had hit a big block meant for constructing gutters along the lonely road beside the Harvey road cemetery; for those of you who are conversant with Lagos and the Yaba area. The block was placed by the side of the road instead of being placed in the gutter.

This crash caused an explosion, the fire started from the bonnet of Von's car and consumed the car with him in it. Von ran out of the car into the lonely road with fire over his body, screaming, “Blood of Jesus” severally. He dove to the ground to roll but suddenly, the fire went out. Court Orders FG, Okonjo-Iweala to Account For ‘Missing N30trillion’

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos state has ordered former Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and the Goodluck Jonathan led administration to  account for N30 trillion said to have been missing or unaccounted for while they were in government.

Justice Ibrahim Buba had given the order in a Freedom of Information suit number FHC/L/CS/196/2015 filed by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).

SERAP’s filed the suit following revelations by the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Charles Soludo, that at least N30 trillion “has either been stolen or unaccounted for, or grossly mismanaged over the last few years under the Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s watch.” SERAP had approached the court to order the former Minister and the Federal government to provide it with information on the said N30 trillion.

Delivering judgement in the suit last week, Justice Buba said,
“Mrs Okonjo-Iweala and the Federal Government have no legally justifiable reason for refusing to provide SERAP with the information requested for. The Court has gone through the application and agrees that SERAP’s application has merits and the argument is not opposed. SERAP’s application is granted as prayed.”
The judgment by Buba reads in part:
“Preliminary objection by Mrs Okonjo-Iweala and the federal government is misconceived, the court upholds the arguments by SERAP for the reasons stated herein.
“SERAP commenced this proceeding by way of Originating Summons dated 23 February 2015 and filed 25 February 2015. Mrs Okonjo-Iweala and the Federal Government filed a Memorandum of Conditional Appearance, a Notice of Preliminary Objection and written address, all undated but filed on 29 September 2015.
“The preliminary objection is on the following grounds: that SERAP did not obtain the mandatory leave of the Federal High Court to issue and serve the Originating Summons and other processes outside Lagos State; that there is no mandatory endorsement on the Originating Summons that it is to be served on Mrs Okonjo-Iweala and the Federal Government in Abuja and outside jurisdiction of this Court.
“The only issue for determination is whether Mrs Okonjo-Iweala and the federal government should be heard on their preliminary objection considering the totality of the circumstances of this case.

“He who wants equity must do equity. This suit was filed on 25 February 2015 and from the record of the court was served on Mrs Okonjo-Iweala and the Federal Government on 3 July, 2015. It took about 3 months for them to come up with technical response to the simple request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2011.
“Mrs Okonjo-Iweala and the Federal Government have therefore been caught by Order 29 of the Rules of this Court, which requires that an application shall be made within 21 days after service on the Defendants of the originating summons.

“If Mrs Okonjo-Iweala and the federal government want to raise issues about service, the law does not permit of demurer. The proper route for them should have been to join issues with the originating summons and also file their objections. In the present case by SERAP, the Notice of Preliminary Objection by Mrs Okonjo-Iweala and the federal government is incurably defective for not conforming to order 29 of the Rules of this Court.”
