Actress Chioma Akpotha is not happy after her IG followers bashed her colleague Uche Jombo, calling her fat. Chioma is now asking:

Why if I may ask do you sit behind your laptops and your phones and throw demeaning words at your fellow human being?
Who died and made you Uche's watchman?
Did Uche tell you she doesn't have a mirror in her house?
Did she tell she doesn't know her dress size has changed?
Did she by any chance tell you Kenny is complaining ?
Did she beg you for money to buy slimming tea and she pocketed the money and bought chocolates instead?

Student Lovers Escape Jail After Having Fun at Lagos Hotel But Couldn't Pay Their Bills

Two lovers have escaped jail after they went to a hotel to have fun and were unable to foot the bills for the food and drinks they took and the lodging accommodation for the night they stayed in the hotel in Lagos State.

They were arrested and charged before Ebutte Metta Magistrates’ court with conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and refusing to pay their hotel bills.
The incident happened at a popular hotel located at Murtala Mohammed Way, Ebutte Metta.

The lovers, Usini Tolu, 27, and Gloria Banigo, 24, checked into the hotel whose accommodation costs N17,500 per night and promised to pay the money the following morning.
They were equally served some drinks and food before they went in for the night romp.

In the morning when the hotel’s manager, Stephen Ezeaku, went to the lovers’ room to request for the money as they had previously agreed, Tolu informed the manager that he had no money with him and as such he could not pay the bills.

Apart from that, PMNews reports the suspects allegedly threatened Ezeaku violently in an attempt to escape.

However, before they could escape, they were apprehended and handed over to the police who detained them at the station. At the station, they allegedly confessed that they were lovers and had no money to pay for the accommodation in the hotel but decided to risk it.

They claimed that they were students and did not have money to pay for the one night hotel accommodation. They were charged to court with the alleged offence under the Criminal Code.

When they were arraigned, they broke down in tears and pleaded with the complainant and court for forgiveness and spare them from going to prison.
Moved by their plea, the complainant told the court that he had forgiven them and would not want to continue with the matter.

The presiding Magistrate, Miss K. A. Ariyo subsequently struck out the matter on compassionate grounds and discharged them accordingly.

Woman Reveals How Her Boyfriend Threw Acid in Her Face : "I Can Only Describe The Pain as Like Sitting Inside Fire"

In a series by the UK Guardian called 'My Experience' where survivors share their unique experiences, Christy Sims(pictured above) reveals how her "controlling" and "manipulative" boyfriend threw acid in her face because he suspected she was going to break up with him. Read what she wrote below...

"It was about 2pm on a Sunday in April 2013. I was in my kitchen, texting friends to ask for their addresses. In 12 days I was getting my master’s degree in counselling and I was sending out invitations to family and friends to my graduation party.
My boyfriend, Andrew, called out to me from the bathroom. He said: “Come bring me a towel. There’s water on the floor.”

As I walked down the hallway, I could see the door was open and he was sliding in a pool of water while holding a bowl in his hands. I stopped in my tracks. “What are you doing?” I asked. “Where did that water come from? Why are you holding a bowl?” He stepped out of the water and stood in front of me, staring at me. Then he splashed the liquid from the bowl into my face.
“What was that?” I asked. “What did you just do?” I was confused. Then my eyes started burning.

I ran to the sink, screaming. Andrew didn’t say a word. He stood behind me, watching. That’s the last thing I remember seeing with my own two eyes. Much later I would find out that Andrew had thrown sulphuric acid – drain cleaner – at my face.

He called the emergency services as I made my way down the hall. In shock, I slipped to the floor. I didn’t know it at the time but the operator on the phone was telling Andrew to rinse me off with water. He never did. Instead, he told me: “They said if I rinse you off, it’s going to ignite the chemical. Just sit there.” He watched me burn for 13 minutes while we waited for the ambulance.

I can only describe the pain as like sitting inside a fire. The acid had covered my face, chest and arms, where it burned down to the bottom epidermis, below my nerves. When the paramedics got there, they stripped me and took me outside to get rinsed by the torrential rain. They gave me morphine and put me in the ambulance. I don’t remember anything else.

I woke up in a hospital burns unit two months later. I couldn’t see. My eyelids were sewn shut. I couldn’t open my mouth or stretch my arms out. I couldn’t talk, walk, bathe or feed myself. I faced months of reconstructive surgery and skin grafts. When I eventually saw my face, I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t even make out where my features began and ended. I was stunned, and remember joking, “I am seriously jacked up.” It was too much to take in.

My family told me that Andrew had been harassing them, obsessively asking about my face and saying he would take care of me no matter what. He told them that he had slipped and fallen, and that’s how I had got acid on me. I knew it wasn’t an accident and I knew it would be hard to prove, because he was a clever man. He had never been violent with me before but he was controlling and manipulative.

Over the next four months, I got my sight back in one eye and two months after the attack, I was walking again. The first thing I did was go to the local police department near my home in McDonough, Georgia and file a report. They didn’t pursue it. They said they had questioned me when I’d got to hospital and I’d said it was an accident. I don’t remember that.

Months went by and finally I went to the prosecutor’s office and told the assistant district attorney my story. She believed me and reopened the case. In July 2015, it finally went to trial. Andrew was found guilty of two counts of aggravated battery and one count of aggravated assault. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with 20 to serve.

I set up a foundation to support victims of domestic violence. Acid attacks are a global issue – it’s unusual in the US, but less so elsewhere, for example in Bangladeshi I believe Andrew attacked me because he knew I was going to break up with him that weekend, something I decided to do when my 13-year-old son told me he felt scared around him. But the one thing he was trying to destroy – my beauty – had nothing to do with my face. You can’t burn integrity, character or courage. What he thought he would destroy, he never even touched. "

Maid to Liverpool's Football Star, Kolo Toures, Runs To The Press, Reveals How His Family Treated Her Like A Slave

Kolo Toure's maid has claimed she was treated like a 'slave' and was forced to work up to 16 hour days at his mansion in Cheshire. Alice Sawyer, 30, was so scared of the Liverpool player's wife, who made her perform demeaning tasks such as tying her shoelaces, she fled last week.

The live-in domestic helper was paid less than the minimum wage and had her passport withheld when she returned to Toure's house and tried to quit on Saturday.

Ms Sawyer said Toure saw how she was treated but never confronted his wife, Awo, whom she was forced to call 'madam'.

The cruel treatment of the mother-of-two, who has a British dad and Filipino mum, eventually stopped when her family called 999 and police arrived at the football star's £1.75million home in Prestbury, Cheshire.

She was paid a basic rate of £350 a week for 8am to 8pm shifts Monday to Friday and £8 for every extra hour she worked - sometimes her shifts wouldn't end until 3am and her pay rate equated to £6.63 an hour. The minimum wage is £7.20 an hour. She sent the money home to her family.

Toure - who is paid £90,000 a week - assured Ms Sawyer taxes and national insurance would be sorted by him, but as she was paid cash in hand she is not sure this happened.

'I wish I'd never met them. It was awful,' Ms Sawyer said. 'I was rarely given a day off and would usually work weekends. It was non-stop. I was on my feet all the time. All I'd hear was shouting and nagging.

'She'd get angry all the time. No matter what I did it was wrong. She'd run her hand over surfaces I'd dusted and make me do it again. She'd get up in my face shouting and pointing her finger,' she added.

Ms Sawyer began her employment after a friend said the Toures were looking for another helper to supplement their four staff members.

After their Filipino nanny left, Ms Sawyer was also expected to care for the couple's three children, aged three, ten and 12.

When Ms Sawyer joined the Toures on a trip to Tenerife for a Liverpool training camp she was forced to humiliatingly tie Mrs Toure's shoelace as she was walking to a restaurant.

The maid also claimed Mrs Toure spend most of the trip in bed and didn't socialise with the other WAGs because they didn't get on.

Even being friends with fellow employees was forbidden.

When Ms Sawyer struck up a friendship with another worker, from the Philippines with whom she shared a room, the helper was told to move into one of the children's bedrooms, despite the house having five bedrooms.

Wedding Ends in Mass Brawl After Bride Flips The Finger at Her Father-in-law

A wedding in Russia erupted into one big fight after the bride flipped the finger at her father-in-law.
In a video shared online, the bride named Lena is seen raising the finger in the direction of her in-laws and accompanying it with a wink and a smile.

But her new father-in-law is less than impressed and launches towards her within seconds.

A male can be heard saying: "What the heck is this? Put your middle finger on the plate and I cut it with a knife"
Before her father-in-law screamed: "You freaking cow.
"Get the f*** out of here."
One woman, trying to cover the bride's mouth with her hand, says: "Lena, please calm yourself down."

While another man urges: "Go on, kill her." The bride's father in-law looses his cool and shouts: "You damned w***e!

"I spent a lot of money on this wedding and what did you do?"

He starts shoving and slapping his daughter-in-law who falls to the floor.

A woman's voice can then be heard saying: "Lena, are you out of your f*****g mind?"
In the footage Lena is led away in tears as her in-laws try to kick her.

While the immediate cause of the fight is obvious enough, the sheer size of willing participants is baffling. There could be an explanation however, where there are Russians there is Vodka and several bottles could be seen lying around.

Peter Okoye Is More Popular & Richer Than His Brother Paul Okoye, PSquare Can Never Come Back Together – Insider Says

While fans are still hoping for a comeback, an insider has revealed that PSquare musical duo, Peter and Paul Okoye may never reunite again.

This heartbreaking fact was made known by a close source to the twins who requested anonymity.

This is what the source said:

“Though the twins are trying to put up a front that all is well by kissing and making up publicly but the cracks have only grown deeper. One thing you can’t ignore is the fact that Peter still is pursuing a solo career despite their recent posts and apology to their fans. And whether we like it or not, Peter aka Mr. P it would seem has been experiencing a level of acceptance already.

“Remember a while ago he performed in Abuja alone without Paul and that show was a success. He also had a solo show in Dubai and ever since, he has been bombarding instagram with pictures of Mr. P, his new brand. The question now is, how is this going to impact P Square as a group because it is obvious that Peter is already looking beyond P Square,”.

A family source said Peter Okoye’s success is likely to make Paul Okoye go under, in the last one week, Paul Okoye shows his IG fans that he is beefing his brother.

Check out his latest post on the popular photo sharing website below

His fans believe the above post was targeted at his brother who is currently in Dubai for his third solo performance.

As we speak, Peter Okoye has Over 1.1million followers while his brother Paul is well behind at 560K followers on instagram

This Nigerian Driver & Trader 'Swallowed' N39m Cocaine(Photos)

Two men are currently in the custody of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) after being nabbed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos over 252 wraps of cocaine weighing 4.3kgs.

The NDLEA put the street value of the drugs at about N39m.

According to NDLEA spokesperson, Mr. Mitchell Ofoyeju, the suspects – 54-year-old Chinweuba Echezona, who is a driver and 44-year-old Ekwueme Louis, a trader – had ingested some of the drugs and concealed part of it in their luggage.

Ofoyeju said:
“The suspects were caught during the screening of passengers on an Emirates flight from Dubai. The NDLEA commander at the airport, Ahmed Garba, said that both suspects are under investigation.

Echezona packed 103 wraps of cocaine in his waist and ingested 69 wraps weighing 2.745kgs while Louis concealed 75 wraps in his luggage and ingested five wraps.”
Garba said the suspects are currently being grilled over the unlawful importation.

Ofoyeju said:
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects were promised N500,000 each to smuggle the drugs from Dubai to Nigeria. Their trip was fully sponsored by an unidentified drug trafficking organisation.

However, efforts are ongoing to trace and arrest their sponsors. Martins is married with five children while Louis is married with three children.”

Echezona told officials of the agency in his statement:
“I am a driver but I have been out of job for a while now. I have been searching for job and my condition was so bad that I could not feed and discharge my responsibilities as a husband to my wife and father to my children. This was the reason I went into drug trafficking. I did it in order to survive the economic hardship.”

Louis also attributed his involvement in drug trafficking to poverty.
“I used to sell jewellery but I have lost everything including my shop due to family problem. I feel ashamed that I cannot take care of my family and pay the school fees of my children,” he said.
NDLEA Chairman, Muhammad Abdallah, has ordered a speedy investigation of their cases.

He said:
“Let me assure members of the public that the NDLEA has taken measures to fortify the exit points in the country. Drug traffickers will find it difficult to break through our security barriers.”

“The ultimate objective is to have a society that is free from illicit drug production, trafficking and abuse. This arrest is being investigated and we hope to trace other persons linked to the crime.”

CCT/Panama Report : I Won't Resign - Embattled Saraki Reiterates

Senate President Bukola Saraki says despite his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal and the allegations from the recently released Panama report, he will not be tendering his resignation.
He spoke through his media aide, Yusuph Olaniyonu, in a text message sent to Premiumtimes. The text message reads

"There’s a case in the Tribunal and a resultant appeal at the Court of Appeal. The underlining philosophy of our legal system is that an accused person is presumed innocent until found guilty. Those who are contemplating calls for resignation want to circumvent the judicial system. They are obviously being sponsored by some politicians. The Senate President is not contemplating any resignation. He will surely have his day in court.”

Husband Kills His Wife Over Her Late Father's Wealth, Which She Was to Inherit(Photo)

The Late Fatima Ibrahim and Family spokesman Babangida Habibu

Late Fatima Ibrahim had closed from her place of work,  Zubairu Pilot Primary school in Dutsinma town where she teaches Basic Science.

Passing through her family home, where she exchanged pleasantries with relatives, she retired home at her residence at the Low-Cost Housing Estate. Little did family and friends know that they were saying final farewell to her, as her lifeless body was discovered the next day in bed, with blood trickling from her mouth, and bruises on one side of her face.

The deceased, a 32-year-old mother,  was married to  Umar Manu, a staff of the Federal University Dutsinma, Information and Communication Department, who hails from Zaria, Kaduna State and is the prime suspect in the case. The couple have a three-year-old son.

Daily Trust gathered that trouble started for late Fatima when her father, Alhaji Ibrahim Habibu, died in December 2014 and she inherited his wealth. He was until his death a regional manager with a major bank in Sokoto.

According to late Fatima’s uncle and spokesman of the family, Babangida Habibu, since the death of the father, Manu went all-out to get his wife’s share of the inheritance divided among late Alhaji Habibu’s children. He said:
“On our part as family, we resolved to do all possible to protect his property, and committee was set up to share the inheritance appropriately, making sure accounts were opened for each and every one, with each share of money lodged within.”
Late Fatima’s uncle said about seven months back, his niece reported her husband’s changing attitude and the family had to intervene, and invited him along with his parents to iron things out. But, Habibu said, after a while she complained again.
“It was at this point that she chose to move out to a new place, where he still visits on the pretence of wanting to see his son,” he said.
Habibu said:
“Manu had earlier been threatening Fatima for a while, and even on that fateful day he called to ask her to make available N800,000 for him to settle some debts. Mark you, she had always tried to let him know that the money he assumes she had was not in her custody, but he never wanted to hear that.”

Manu, according to Habibu, visited the deceased at her residence on the day the murder was perpetrated, at about 8:30pm, entering in and out of the compound twice before he finally left after 11:00pm.

“But the next day, Fatima’s maid met her lifeless body on the bed and raised alarm,” he said, adding that Manu was apprehended and handed over to the police where he has owned up, and confessed to the killing, even narrating how he did it.
According to late Fatima’s uncle, the deceased’s family have said all they want now is for the law to take its course.

State Commissioner of Police, Abdullahi Usman, who confirmed the arrest of Manu, said investigation has opened up on the matter.

Late Fatima was born in 1984, and bagged a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto.

Fake Policemen Arrested After Spelling Mistake

Four gunmen riding in a fake police car were arrested in Mexico after the real authorities noticed a spelling mistake on their fake police vehicle.
The car was painted to look exactly like the ones used by the federal police, but they spelled the word "division" with a "c" instead of an "s."

While they were driving within the Western state of Michoacán, a military patrol saw the vehicle and became suspicious. They stopped the vehicle and arrested the four men with guns and ammunition when they confirmed they were fake.

"The detained suspects do not belong to any security force," the Michoacan authorities said in a statement Tuesday.

Ne-Yo's Ex-Fiancé Writes Heartbreaking Piece Exposing The Pain She Felt After Ne-Yo Asked Her to Tie Her Tubes Only For Him to Marry Someone Else

In a piece for New York Times, Monyetta Shaw, Ne-Yo's ex-fiancĂ© and mother of his two oldest children, wrote about the pain she felt after agreeing to have her tubes tied at Ne-Yo's request, saying Ne-Yo was supposed to undergo a sterilization procedure as well only to find out he never went through with it. Read excerpts from the piece written by Monyetta for the NY Post below...

On Oct. 9, 2011, I delivered a healthy baby boy, my second child, Mason, and I finally felt my family was complete. So before the doctors finished up in the delivery room, I told them: “I want you to burn my fallopian tubes.”

My fiancé, Shaffer Chimere Smith (better known as R&B artist Ne-Yo), was right by my side, holding my hand the entire time. The doctor must have asked us eight times if this was what we wanted. Each time, we both replied yes.

Sterilization was something Ne-Yo and I discussed thoroughly in the months leading up to the baby’s delivery. We had a daughter, Madilyn, in 2010, and two children seemed like more than enough for the both of us. Ne-Yo also agreed to undergo a vasectomy to show our mutual commitment to the relationship.

We first met in 2009 at a Jamie Foxx concert in Louisiana. He asked me out several times before I said yes — and then I fell for him fast. He had such a good heart, and that’s what attracted me to him.

The next year, I found out I was pregnant. It wasn’t a complete surprise, as we weren’t using protection, and we knew instantly that this child was a gift from God.

After starting a family, I fell more in love than ever. In 2010, during a weekend in the Dominican Republic for [rapper] Fabolous’ birthday, Ne-Yo asked me to marry him. We were in a suite, and he told everybody to be quiet. He pulled my hand, dropped down to one knee, and I immediately started crying. He incorporated the lyrics from his song “Make Me Better” and pulled out a 10-carat diamond ring.

In 2011, I found out I was pregnant with Mason.
This time, Ne-Yo wasn’t there a lot. Our home base was in Atlanta, but he spent most of his time working in Los Angeles. I told him, “Our family should be in LA with you,” but he was adamant that his family grow up in Atlanta.

I would travel to see him sometimes, but as the pregnancy progressed I could no longer fly. But he was there for Mason’s birth, and gave me a high-five in the delivery room. Immediately after, the doctor performed the sterilization procedure. I had no regrets.

I was so busy caring for two young children, I just assumed Ne-Yo had followed through and had gotten the vasectomy. I trusted him so much that it never even crossed my mind that he hadn’t gone through with it.

But then, in June 2013 — just two months before our August wedding — Ne-Yo called.
“I don’t want to be monogamous anymore,” he told me — in other words, he wanted to break up. A week later, we had a deep conversation face to face. I was so hurt and distraught; my parents have been together for 44 years, and I always assumed our relationship would last for the rest of our lives. The thought of him and my kids not living under the same roof was devastating.

A week after our split, Ne-Yo posted the news on Instagram. It wasn’t long until VH1 producers called and asked me to join the reality show “Atlanta Exes,” which followed me along with other ex-wives of Hollywood stars, such as Tameka [Foster], Usher’s ex.

Then, in 2014, when Ne-Yo released his music video for “Money Can’t Buy,” I found out that he was dating the video’s vixen, Crystal Renay, known for posting racy photos on Instagram.

My world came crashing down all over again: I had tried to understand that he didn’t want to be monogamous, but then he went and found a different woman whom he was ready to be monogamous with?

It hurts to see them parade their love on social media. They recently married, on Feb. 20, and Crystal gave birth to their first son. She seems like a nice girl, but I would be worried if I were she. How does she know that he’s not going to do the same thing to her that he did to me?

Adding to the pain is knowing that if I find another man to love, I may not be able to start a family with him. I’m too scared to go to a doctor to find out if there’s anything they can do about it. Because I do want to get married someday, and if my future husband does not have kids, I will want to have his children.

Despite all of the hurt, there has been one bright spot. I’ve had so many women reach out to me via social media, pouring their hearts out about similar regrets. I’m glad that I’ve been able to counsel some of them as they navigate their own hardships.

Now I look back and wonder what I was thinking. I love hard, and I made so many permanent decisions based on what I thought a man wanted from me, not what I wanted for myself. When my daughter comes of age, I will tell her: “Your body is your temple. Don’t do anything to it you don’t want to regret.”

Today, I’m finally at peace. I took awhile to get here, and I don’t know if I’ll ever be exactly where I want to be, but I make the choice each day to be happy, not just for me, but for my two kids. That’s where the title of my book comes from — this is all bigger than me.

'Gay Marriages Responsible For Global Problems' - Bishop Says

Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Maiduguri, Bishop Emmanuel Kanamani says gay marriage is responsible for so many problems in the world today.
Bishop Kanamani stated this during the 2016 Synod of the diocese in Maiduguri today April 8th. He described the act as “madness of the highest order” and regretted that those who reject gay marriage were regarded as primitive people.

“If men marry men and women marry women then who will give birth to the next generation. They said it is freedom, but I assure you it will render negative effect to the entire society,’’ said the clergyman.
