Arresting Jonathan Will Throw Nigeria Into Confusion - Buhari Warned

 The Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) Northern Chapter, has released a statement asking President Buhari to shelve any plans of arresting former President Goodluck Jonathan as he continues in his fight against corruption. In a statement signed by the association's Publicity Secretary, Rev. Joseph Hayab, the christian body stated that such moves by the Buhari-led government will throw Nigeria into confusion;

“Let me warn that such a misadventure will set a wrong precedent and only open door for mischief people to set this nation into confusion.

 What Nigerians need urgently is availability of fuel, electricity, prompt salary, security of lives and property, among other issues that are begging for urgent answers. If the purported plan to arrest him is to please the international community and prove to them that we are fighting corruption, then let us know that this same international community are busy celebrating him as hero of democracy and even those who seriously wanted him to go for a change to happen are now singing a new song about him. Former President, Jonathan is deservedly seen in Nigeria and beyond as a hero of democracy because of his actions before, during and after the 2015 elections. As such, it will be an ill advice for the Buhari administration to initiate the arrest of such a statesman at this time and with the current realities. 

 Our government must know that there are individuals serving today that are also been accused of corruption but since there are claims that nothing has been established against them, they are walking and speaking like saints. While ignoring all these, Government now wants to arrest a man of peace like Jonathan? CAN Northern States wishes to advice that such an action, if actualized, has the capacity to lead to serious confusion that will affect Nigeria economically and otherwise. We believe Former President Jonathan deserves praise and should receive gratitude from those in power today not scorn. Let it not be that this purported planned arrest is meant to distract Nigerians from speaking or complaining about the reality of what and how they are feeling since the past eleven months, we are afraid that such an action may spark a chain of reactions. If our President wants to arrest anything for now then he should arrest the incessant spate of herdsmen attacks in Nigeria which has led to the deaths of almost a thousand of innocent Nigerians under his watch. He should arrest the dangerous slide in the power sector.he should arrest the slide in the economy. We believe at this time and with the current realities that our former president most not be denigrate but honour, because honour must be given to whom it is due.”

Former Lawmaker Sentenced to 154 Years in Prison For Fraud

 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) on Monday April 25, secured the conviction of a former member of the Kogi State House of Assembly and former Caretaker Chairman, Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of the state, Gabriel Daudu, for a N1.4 billion fraud.

Daudu who was first arraigned in April 2010, was prosecuted by the EFCC on a 208 count charge bordering on money laundering and misappropriation of public funds.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, who presided over the case at a Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, found him guilty of 77 counts and sentenced him to 154 years imprisonment.

In his ruling, the trial judge, held that the prosecution proved its case beyond every reasonable doubt, and therefore sentenced Daudu to two years on each of the 77 counts to run concurrently.

Before the conviction of Daudu, prosecuting counsel, Wahab Shittu, tendered various exhibits before the court and fielded 13 witnesses to prove the case against him.

Tragic : Missing Nigerian Coventry University Student Found Dead(Photo)

 Nigerian student, Ozievo Akerele, 24, disappeared without a trace on January 31st 2015 after a night out with friends. He was a Masters student of Coventry University.

 His body has finally been found. Two young boys playing football found his body in a disused Coventry churchyard on Thursday April 21st. His family has been informed of the discovery.

The shocking discovery happened after the boys kicked a football in to the churchyard, off Albert Fearns Garden, in Foleshill, and climbed over a fence to retrieve it.

The mother of one of the boys, who wished not to be named, said: “My son and his friend were playing football and the ball went over the fence in to the churchyard.

“His friend jumped over the fence and saw something, so he shouted my lad who also went over the fence and saw it also.

“They went to get the other boy’s mother who wasn’t sure what it was and thought it may have been a Halloween outfit or something like that.

“They got another adult who said it was definitely a body and the police were called.

“My boy was really upset and both boys have been really quiet.

“The police were really lovely with both of them and I tried to explain to my lad that hopefully the person’s family can now have some closure.”

West Midlands Police say that Ozi’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers.

A post mortem examination carried out on Friday was inconclusive and further tests will be carried out to establish the cause of death, although detectives do not believe it to be suspicious.

It's believed that Ozi took a wrong turn on his walk home after a night out. He was last seen in Old Church Road at 7.50am when he tried to flag down a motorist for help. His last movements were caught on CCTV. 

EFCC Seize Diezani Alison-Madueke's Houses, Wrist Watch Worth £600,000 & Other Diamond Jewelry(Report)

 The Economic and Financial Crimes Commissions(EFCC) has seized properties belonging to former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

 According to The Nation, EFCC confiscated houses and a very expensive wrist watch worth £600, 000 as well as other gold and diamond jewelry from the former minister who is being prosecuted at the Westminster Magistrate’s Court in London for money laundering and bribery allegations, along with her accomplice Jide Omokore

"We have seized many houses belonging to Diezani and Omokore on Banana Island and other places. Also, a wristwatch of about £1.4million was seized from Omokore’s wife. From the former minister, we have retrieved a choice wrist watch worth £600,000 and jewelry in gold and diamond. We will soon show Nigerians all these items for them to appreciate what we have done and to learn some lessons."

 A family believed to be Kuwaiti recently installed a secret camera in their kitchen after becoming suspicious of their maid's activities in their home. And what they discovered was very shocking.

The maid was caught pouring her urine into her boss's juice after he requested a drink. The camera captured two women going about their daily chores while one of them prepared a drink.

She is seen stirring it and then heading away before the second maid walks over to the juice. Before she gets there however she quickly pulls a beaker of what purportedly contains her own urine from her trousers. She is then clearly seen topping up the drink with the liquid.

The video concludes with the woman returning to carry on with her job. She can be seen preparing food in the background. The man involved who has chosen to keep his identity secret has warned other families to be careful about who they employ and keep an eye on the activities of domestic staff.

 Prince Chimaeze Oforduru(pictured above) who is the the son of the traditional ruler of Ikwuano Autonomous community in Isi Ala Mbano town of Imo state, was assassinated by unidentified gunmen in Owerri city in Imo state on Saturday April 23rd, few weeks after he paid N5m ransom to secure the release of his five-year old daughter who was kidnapped.

According to PM News, the unidentified gunmen trailed the deceased to his home at New layout in Owerri and then opened fire, killing him instantly.

Oforduru who was only recently elected as the president of the National Association of Nigeria Traders, NANTS, Imo state chapter, is married with two daughters. His body has been deposited in a morgue while the police is investigating the reason behind his assassination.

Police Arrest Man Disguised as Woman to Hook up With Men(Photos)

 According to reporters, a man in Lilongwe Area 49 near Kaggwa Parish in Malawi, met with this 'woman' and agreed to go to an area within the city known as Dubai to have s*x.

Man Kills His Wife Because She Refused to Give Him More Children(Photo)

 The Nassarawa state police command has arrested one Okala Jo­seph for shooting his wife, Helen Precious, over disagreement on the number of children he wanted them to have. According to The Sun, Okala shot his wife in front of his mother in-law at her farm in Ninda village, Kokona Local Government Area, Nasarawa State on April 4th. 

 Nassarawa state commissioner of police, Lawal Shehu who spoke on the incident, said Okala had accused his wife of aborting their babies after she refused to give him more children. This had caused a big problem between the couple as Okala demanded that his wife bore him more children. Things between the couple came to a sad end on April 4th after Okala, wearing a mask, stormed his mother in-law's farm and shot his 18 year old wife in front of her mother and sister. He tried to run away after committing the crime but was quickly apprehended by officers at the Garaku Police station.

When interrogated, John said 

“My wife denied me going to school. My father warned me against marrying her rather I should go to school. Since my late wife insisted that I must marry her. I have to deny my fa­ther and abandon my education to marry my late wife in 2013. I was blessed with one kid, a baby boy. My late wife has been preg­nant for me but she would abort the pregnancy, she has done the abortion severally. It was the senior brother of my wife who came on December 25, 2015 and packed my wife’s luggage and took her away from my house, we have been quarreling over the matter. It was April 4, 2016 around 2:00pm I went to Nindama village, my wife’s mother’s village and met them in the farm; I went in anger and took my dane gun and shot my wife dead in the present of her mother and I wanted to escaped before the policemen arrested me. I never regret killing my wife, she has denied me education. I am a farmer in Angwan Sarki village and I am struggling to have a better life" he said.

A relative of the deceased who spoke on the incident said 

“The man has been maltreat­ing our daughter. We had to send her elder brother to pack her luggage from the hus­band’s house on December 25, 2015. Suddenly we saw the husband in my mother’s farm with his wife and he shot her dead without a reason. We want justice to be done. The policemen have released our daughter’s corpse to us and we have buried her on April 8, 2016.” 

Okala will soon be charged to court for culpable homicide.

 Ahead of the PDP National convention where new leaders including the National Chairman will be elected, former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Doyin Okupe, says that failure of the party to consider a Yoruba man as the new party chairman will make some of them reconsider their membership of the party. There is an embarrassing falsehood being propergated by political charlatans from the southwest and some influential collaborators in the top echelon of the PDD.

The seed of this misrepresentation was sowed by a group of political clowns and court jesters under the leadership of Senator Buruji Kashamu, a political impostor who claims he is the leader of the party and the Yorubas in the Southwest.

On the 21st of April 2016, the cream of the authentic Yoruba leadership in the southwest gathered at the Golden Gates Hotel on kingsway road, ikoyi, under the Chairmanship of Chief olabode George, a retired Air Commodore, Fmr Governor, former Dep. National Chairman of the Pdp and a grandson of the revered, legendary and world acclaimed, distinguished Yoruba Icon and Politician,

Sir Herbert Macaulay.

At that meeting the true sons and daughters of Yoruba land in an unprecedented unity condemned the erstwhile claim by the Yoruba Traitors who went and lied to the PDP chairman, His Excellency Sen Ali Modu Sheriff, that the Yorubas do not want the chairmanship of the pdp.

I want to state categorically here, without any fear of equivocation, that We the Yoruba's from the Southwest, desire and demand the post of the national chairman at the next convention of the party.

The followings are the past chairmen:

Chief Solomon Lar, chief Gemade, chief Audu ogbe, prince Ogbolafor, Dr Nwodo, Alhadji Baraje, dr Haliru Bello(AG), Alhadji Bamangar Tukur, Alhadji Adamu Muazu, prince Secondus(Ag),and Sen Sheriff.

From the above within the last 18years there have been 11 chairmen from 5 geopolitical zones. Only the Yoruba Race from the south west have been precluded from this exalted office.

In the interest of fairness, equity and Justice, it is most compelling that the Yorubas of the Southwest zone must be allowed to contest for this post at this coming National convention.

Any attempt to do anything to the contrary, no matter the reason advanced cannot be acceptable.

Failure for a Yoruba man to emerge as the national chairman can only mean two things.

1. That there is a pervasive and concealed hatred for the southwest in the PDP. OR

2. That the PDP has very little or no regard for Yoruba interest as was envinced by the obvious cheating of the Southwest from the position of the Speakerin 2011, which was never rectified nor compensated for the whole of four years.

The sad implication of the above is that, regrettably, many of us from the southwest may have to reconsider our membership of this great party we have helped to nurture and supported through thick and thing, a party we have loved almost more than our very existence, and the party we have served with all our natural endowment, in victory and defeat.

If there exist any conscience, anywhere in this party, let that conscience speak now and stop the new and alien conscienceless power currently holding sway within the party hierarchy.

What’s your take about this Equality Bill?

I’m sorry I don’t think men and women should have equal rights in this case. I think the male should have more than the female, but it should be with proportion, maybe on a ration of 60 to 40.

The reason why I think so is because we women tend to be extremely domineering when it comes to 

issues and sometimes sentimental. Men can be detailed even though we are sometimes. So, there are proportions in all these things.

The role of a man can never be over emphasised. Even though I’m a woman rights activist, I still believe in the place of a woman and a man. The man is suppose to be a step ahead of the woman; you can never take that away.

You have been with your husband for years, but recently tied the knot legally.Why did it take you so long?

For documentation purpose, we needed to because of the necessity that was going on around bank BVN and all that, and because I run a foundation, there are a whole lot of places that I will go to, that I need to establish the fact that I am a married woman.

They don’t recognise traditional marriages abroad, you have to be legally married to your husband. And for us, we needed to document our marriage. It didn’t add or subtract anything from who we are. My husband and I have been good friends and good lovers.

We dated and we are still dating. It’s a continuous thing, its not like we don’t fight or have issues, it just makes up the fact that we understand each other as best friends and we know that each step of the way, we take it as it comes and we believe that at the end of the day, we have to make the marriage work.

Three things that fascinate you about your husband?

One, he is a highly intelligent young man. Two, he has a very wonderful heart, and three, he is very generous.

What has been the secret behind your beauty and smiles?

I express it all. If I’m annoyed with you, I bear my heart out, I don’t hold grudges against anyone. I take each day as its comes and I find happiness in whatever I’m doing. If I’m friends with you and I find your company exiting, I continue with you, its doesn’t mean that when you upset me I will hold it back. I will spell it out as it is. Also, I’m not a fanatic, but I hold so much reference to God.

How would you describe your fashion sense?

I’m a casual person, I love it simple and down to earth. I used to be a thumb-boy; when I was much younger, you will find me more i n my jeans. I’m actually not a fashion freak because I’m a contented person and I don’t hunger for what I cannot afford.

I live my life the way I can afford to. I don’t do beyond myself.

Favorite perfume, bag, shoes and all?

I’m a Gucci person. I love Elizabeth Taylor. I love to mix my perfumes.

Favorite foods and drinks?

Chinese is my favorite food and anything sweet. I love Champagne.

How do you relax?

I like to be with my family. My husband and I love to cook and read. I love to read because I always want to up my games and update myself.

If you have the chance to change anything about yourself, what would that be?

I’m not that kind of person. I believe I’m fearfully and wonderfully made. I’m beautiful the way I am, maybe I would love to be taller but any other thing, I’m perfect with it.

Words for you fans?

I just want them to keep criticising me. Because I need to be on my toes all the time. I’m not perfect. To parents, they should always support their kids in education and their dreams.

Tragic : Moment Legendary Singer Papa Wemba Slumped And Died While Performing on Stage(See)

 Congolese musical icon Papa Wemba has died. He was 66 years old. The musician whose real name was Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba was performing at the the Festival des musiques urbaines d’Anoumabo (FEMUA) in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivore early today April 24th when he fell in the middle of his act.

 He had performed two songs and was performing the third when he suddenly slumped on stage (that's him behind the dancers moments before he slumped).

He rushed him to the hospital but died before getting there. There had been no report of ill health before now. May his soul rest in peace, amen. See more photos of the incident below...

 Popular Nollywood actress, Doris Simeon, got embroiled in a scandal of a sort when she and her director husband Daniel Ademinokan, who has now found comfort in the arms of another actress, Stella Damasus, separated a couple of years back.

The separation made headlines for months, putting strain on the actress and her child, but like a conqueror, she survived and has since moved on with her life and looking forward to building a new life for herself.

What are the things you dislike about being in the limelight?

 I have been robbed of my private life. My life is always out there. Anyway, I really don’t care because I knew that would happen even before I got into limelight. 

It seems Nollywood parades many single mothers, why? 

People think we are the only ones going through this, which is not true. A lot of people out there also experience same thing but since they are not in the limelight, nobody knows about them.

I am not a supporter of single parenthood. I wasn’t taught or brought up that way but mine is a situation I find myself. I wouldn’t blame any one for it. Every man or woman has the right to live their life the way they choose but I wouldn’t advise or support such. 

Do you regret being a single mother? 

I have no regret at all. I have only learnt to be stronger. I thank God. My career and business are going on well. The only difference for me is that I don’t have to run home to cook for a husband. Life is still the same. I am normal with no problem. Life goes on.   

Is it true that men take advantage of single mothers? 

It all depends on the woman. If you allow anyone take advantage of you, it’s your headache.  

Why are Yoruba films poorly subtitled? 

We have not been able to get the right people to do it for us. Again, most of us are always in a hurry to send our movies to the market.   

 What is that thing you would never be found doing? 

That should be tying a wrapper round my boobs. I don’t even have a wrapper. The first and only time I wore one was during my son’s naming ceremony.  

It went viral that you attended a Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries MFM church to get your husband ? 

Were they there with me? I go to any church. I went there to pray to God. Thank God I was seen in a church and not with a herbalist. 

How often do you see your son who clocked eight recently? 

He stays with his dad. I really don’t want to say much about this because we are still in court.

What lessons did you learn from your previous marriage? 

I want to be closer to God and put God first in everything I do.

 Is there any man in the picture? 

I never gave up on love. I have found love again in Jesus. I am married to my career right now. I am in a relationship anyway but I want to be private about it.

How soon should we expect the wedding bells? 

He has to wait for me to achieve some things.

What’s your relationship with Stella Damasus? 

I have no business with her.

If you are producing a movie, can you invite Stella Damasuc as one of the casts?

 Yes, I can, after all, she is an actress and money is involved. I can do business with an enemy provided it is strictly business. Why her when I can always go for others?

Do you sometimes wish you were still with your ex-?

 I don’t want him back. He is now in the past .

Having been separated from your husband but now in another relationship, how often do you have sex? 

(laughs) I want to restore my virginity. I never thought of it but that will be whenever my man wants it.

Thirty-two year-old Nurudeen Oriyomi was arrested for allegedly defiling his late friend’s 12-year-old daughter at Alhaji Yinusa street, Bariga, Lagos. The act took place in his one-room apartment at about 2pm on April 9, 2016, while the girl was sent on an errand.

Information at Crime Guard’s disposal had it that Oriyomi and the father of the primary five pupil were friends before the latter’s demise two years ago. Since then, Oriyomi had reportedly been close to the family.

However, the relationship took a sinister dimension penultimate Thursday, after Oriyomi allegedly defiled the eldest child. The suspect, as gathered, stood in front of his house when he sighted the 12-year-old girl ( name withheld) passing-by. He called her and asked where she was going, before inviting her inside, pretending to send her on an errand. He ended up defiling her.

But the burble burst five days later, after the girl’s mother noticed she was walking with difficulty. She reportedly ignored her initially, apparently thinking she could have sustained the injury while playing. But she was attracted to the blood stain on her daughter’s pant when she sat opposite her to relate activities of the day.

Apparently thinking she had started observing her monthly menstrual flow, she curiously asked her daughter, who revealed to her dismay, after much persuasion, that she was raped by ‘brother’ Nurudeen as he was popularly addressed.

The primary school pupil further told her mother that she wanted to shout during the act but Oriyomi gagged her and after that, gave her N50, with a stern warning not to disclose what happened to anyone.

Unable to believe what she has just heard, the widow intimated a neighbor who insisted that Oriyomi must be accosted . He was said to have owned up and begged passionately to be forgiven. But the case was reported at Bariga division , consequent upon which he was arrested. The case was later transferred to the gender Unit, Lagos state Police Command where operatives swung into action by taking the victim to the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, where a test conducted confirmed that her hymen had been broken .

Oriyomi was paraded among other alleged suspected criminals terrorizing Lagos State. In this interview with Crime Guard, he blamed his indulgence on the devil and hardship which he said made him unable to get money to patronize commercial sex workers. Hear him;

“ I am a visitor here because I raped my friend’s daughter. I was actually sex- starved and was looking for every available means to ease myself. Before now, I used to patronize commercial sex workers any time I had such urge. But on this day, I had no money to pay them (commercial sex worker) or to buy condom. 

I was just outside contemplating on what to do when I sighted her. I called her inside, asked her to pull her dress while I pulled her pant and had carnal knowledge of her. When her mother came, I admitted and begged her to forgive me but I never knew she did not forgive me,” stated the suspect from Ilorin, Kwara state.

The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, disclosed that the 12 year-old girl was traumatized and was being medically treated at Mirabel Medical Centre, Ikeja.

52-year-old Grandma Bites Off Daughter's Ears Over Shell Oil Company Boyfriend

 A 52 year-old grandmother identified as Eunice Igwe, resident of Asaba, Delta State on Thursday engaged her daughter in a fight and allegedly bit off her ears over the struggle for her boyfriend, a shell worker.

 Reports said Mrs. Igwe a widow, allegedly caught her daughter pants down with her boyfriend somewhere in Okwe community Asaba where she was being pummelled at the Asaba residence of the lover boy before the police intervened.

It was gathered that Mrs. Igwe’s daughter, a graduate of marketing from the Delta State owned University, (DELSU) Awai Campus, fell in love with the lover boy who works with shell in Warri (name withheld) while she was a 300 level student and introduced him to her mother who fell in love with him.

While their relationship lasted, Mrs. Igwe allegedly sent love messages to  the man, whom sources claimed hails from Asaba.

As it were, Mrs. Igwe and her daughter are said to be residents of “Camp 74” in Asaba where the lover boy frequents while in town.  Trouble started last Tuesday when Mrs. Igwe’s daughter who smelt a rat  allegedly warned her  to stop seducing her boyfriend with skimpy dresses.

The  warning is  said to have unsettled her mother, leaving her with the anger of threats to make life unbearable for her (the daughter).

Those in the know said the “lover boy” had allegedly in secret, pampered the grandma with expensive gifts, a woman whose first daughter before the demise of the husband was delivered of a baby girl.

It was further gathered that the grandma unknown to her that her daughter had gone to the boyfriend’s house in Okwe, sought her household’s permission that she was going for a burial ceremony outside Asaba, only for her to be seen in Okwe, residence of the lover boy where the bubble burst.

She was said to have  heard the daughter’s laughter by the window side of the lover boy’s residence while sexual intercourse between them went on.

Sources said after a long session of sex, the two love birds unknown to them walked out when the woman allegedly attacked the daughter, calling her boyfriend snatcher.

LeadershipNG reports that while their fight lasted, the police were invited to the scene and they were arrested but the police image maker in the state, Mrs. Celestina Kalu, confirmed that the grandma and daughter including the boyfriend were arrested and are currently being interrogated.
