Designer Kunbi Oyelesi recounts how she was robbed in broad day light at CMS
Below is what Olakunbi Oyelese the Creative Director of April ByKunbi brand shared on instagram
So I wasn't going to put this out here but I spoke to a few people recently that have had or heard of a similar experience. Years ago we felt safe enough driving in Lagos as long as your windows were up and you're locked in the car... Even the people with no ac in their cars would sweat it out, literally.
The picture above was an attack/robbery that happened to me in broad day light last week Thursday (8th January).

A teenage girl was stoned to death by her father and brother after bringing ‘dishonour’ to the family by meeting a boy from another village, police have claimed.
Tragic Pratibha Khan was also strangled before her body was cruelly dumped in a field. The battered remains of the 19-year-old, whose face had been “smashed beyond recognition”, were found close to her home in the north of India.
Shocked pal Alia Modi, 18, said:
"I was walking home through the fields when I saw a body lying on the ground."It was covered in blood and when I looked at the face it was so badly damaged I didn’t recognise it as Pratibha’s.It was only later that I learnt who it was and I was simply horrified.”

Bracket---Why we are celebrated everywhere but not in Lagos
Singing duo Bracket ruled the airwaves with their Yori Yori track, but since then they have struggled to have another crossover hit.In a new interview with Vanguard, they explain why they are not celebrated in Lagos
Some people would say, after “Yori Yori” we have not heard from you guys again. Sometimes, I’d laugh it off. This is because, there’s a big competition going on in the industry at the moment. People tend to pay more attention to the ‘new school’; (emerging artistes) who just had their breakthrough in the industry. That’s why most times, people don’t really know when other artistes drop their albums. I remember that we dropped a song last year titled “International Baby.” Though, it wasn’t a hit.
Also, while Vast was still on his hospital bed, we did a song with Clearence Peters called, “Temperature.” Later, we released “Mama Africa” followed by “Nana.” We have been busy, but I wouldn’t blame anyone who said, he has not been hearing from us again. Like I said, the “new school” are ruling the airwaves and people are paying more attention to them than the old school. But frankly speaking, outside Nigeria, we are celebrated in other African countries. We don’t have to make noise about it. Our work speaks for us. It’s not as if we are not doing enough. But the attention today is being shifted to the up and coming artsites. We have songs that can keep us performing on stage for more than 45 minutes.
