Hoodlums slaughter 5 people in Ajah after naming ceremony


Lagos Thugs suspected to be working for a political party in Lagos State, have killed five people in the Ajah area of the state.

Our correspondents learnt that the victims were coming from a naming ceremony when the men waylaid, and opened fire on their bus. The killer gang was also said to have entered the vehicle and used cutlasses and knives to slit the throats of some of the occupants. The deceased were identified as Ganiyu Lawal, aka Ebe; Idris Kolapo; Samsudeen Osoja, aka Songa; Rafiu, aka Ralph; and Ladi.

A source said Songa’s head was cut off during the attack on Wednesday. PUNCH Metro learnt that five others, who sustained injuries during the onslaught, escaped by a whisker. Investigations by PUNCH Metro revealed that the deceased and survivors were working with the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Oyebanji branch, Lagos Island, Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle (aka Seego).

A Detroit mother accused of killing two of her children and storing their bodies in a freezer yelled during separate court outbursts Thursday that she killed them.

Mitchelle Blair was temporarily removed during the custody trial to settle her parental rights to her surviving 8-year-old son and 17-year-old daughter. She was arrested March 24 after court deputies carrying out an eviction at her apartment found the bodies of Stoni Blair, 13, and Stephen Berry, 9, in a deep freezer. Police believe they died months apart in 2012 and 2013.

Over 20 students of University of Nigeria, Nsukka lost their lives on June 2nd in a fatal accident along Nsukka-Enugu expressway near 9th Mile, Ngwo, Enugu after the bus they were traveling in was hit by a tanker. The students were heading to their various homes after they were told to vacate their school for two weeks following protests in two campuses - Enugu & Nsukka - of the school.

Meet the Man who sold his 2-year old son for N450K

                     
A 29-year-old man, Kanayo Awurum, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly selling his son for N450,000 in the Egbe, Ikotun area of the state. According to Punch,Kanayo, from the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, allegedly sold the two-year-old boy, identified as Samuel, to some middle-aged women.

It was learnt that the police had apprehended the three women ─ Nkechi Obi, Cecilia Nwatu and Gladys Nwobodo ─ for allegedly buying the child.

Our correspondent learnt that,the women, who were working with Kanayo’s friend, identified only as Emmanuel, had visited the man and his wife to purchase the boy.
It was gathered that Kanayo told Emmanuel, who is still at large, that he had some financial difficulties, and decided to sell his son for N450,000.

China-based hackers suspected of breaking into the U.S. Government, 4 Million identities compromised



China hacks U.S. Government computer networks and personnel office and stealing identifying information of at least 4 million federal workers, American officials said Thursday.

The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement that data from the Office of Personnel Management and the Interior Department had been compromised.

4 million current and former federal employees may have had their personal information hacked.
The agency, which conducts background checks, warned it was urging potential victims to monitor their financial statements and obtain new credit reports.

U.S. officials believe this could be the biggest breach ever of the government's computer networks.
