A major air disaster was averted on Friday evening with over 120 passengers aboard Aero Aircraft
120 passengers escape death after Aircraft develops fault mid-air.......an Aero Contractors Airline Flight 180 from Lagos to Kaduna developed technical fault mid-air.The Director, Muslim Rights Concern, Prof. Ishaq Akintola,who was on the flight broke the news to New Mail . The aircraft was said to have suddenly lost altitude, 20 minutes after it departed the domestic wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, forcing the aircraft to wobble in the air for over one hour before it was eventually diverted to Abuja.
Akintola said,
“The plane lost altitude 20 minutes after takeoff. We had to make use of the oxygen masks. We saw smoke outside the plane, probably coming from the engine compartment.
Sunday Yakubu claims he started human trafficking to help his victims overcome poverty
A human trafficking suspect, Sunday Yakubu, has explained that he engages in the criminal activity as a result of his ‘good heart.’ Yakubu said he engaged in human trafficking to help the victims become useful citizens and to earn a living.
He also said that he was pushed into the crime because of poverty, adding that he thought he could stop as soon as he made enough money.While being paraded before journalists in Ilorin on Thursday, Yakubu said he wanted to assist them overcome poverty.

Former PDP presidential campaign chairman, Fani Kayode has slammed the new law passed by the senate on Wednesday that approved life imprisonment for rapists and those who have sex with children under 11 years old..This means according to the new law,having sex with anyone 11 years old and above is legal..
Another Fuel Tanker Explosion razes over 10 houses in Lagos
Is this an accident or sabotage ??.the rate at which fuel tankers go up in flames this days calls for serious investigation.......In the early hours of today a petrol tanker burst into flames at Idimu Bus Stop, Egbe Idimu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, Lagos midnight destroying millions of properties.
According to Vanguard eyewitnesses say the incident occurred when two tankers loaded with diesel were in a race to outwit each other and in the process one of the two tankers over-turned spilling its content on the road and immediately burst into fire.
Hoodlums slaughter 5 people in Ajah after naming ceremony
Lagos Thugs suspected to be working for a political party in Lagos State, have killed five people in the Ajah area of the state.
Our correspondents learnt that the victims were coming from a naming ceremony when the men waylaid, and opened fire on their bus. The killer gang was also said to have entered the vehicle and used cutlasses and knives to slit the throats of some of the occupants. The deceased were identified as Ganiyu Lawal, aka Ebe; Idris Kolapo; Samsudeen Osoja, aka Songa; Rafiu, aka Ralph; and Ladi.
A source said Songa’s head was cut off during the attack on Wednesday. PUNCH Metro learnt that five others, who sustained injuries during the onslaught, escaped by a whisker. Investigations by PUNCH Metro revealed that the deceased and survivors were working with the Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Oyebanji branch, Lagos Island, Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle (aka Seego).
