Nigerians celebrate Prof. Jega as he leaves office today...
Professor Attahiru Jega officially bowed out of office as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC today June 30th. He was appointed chairman of the electoral body in 2010 and has conducted two elections, the 2011 and 2015 elections. Professor Jega has handed over to Mohammed Wali, a national commissioner of the electoral body from Sokoto state.

100 killed after Indonesian military plane crashes into residential area
No fewer than 100 people were killed after an Indonesian military plane, C-130 Hercules carrying 113 passengers crashed into Medan, the third largest residential area in Indonesia. According to Indonesia's Air force chief, Air Marshall Agus Supriatna, the pilot told the control tower that the plane needed to turn back because of engine trouble. "The plane crashed while it was turning right to return to the airport," Supriatna said. Also speaking, police chief of Medan city Mardiaz Dwihananto, said several bodies had been recovered from the wreckage.
"The bodies were in the debris of the plane and buildings...we are taking the bodies one by one by ambulance to Adam Malik hospital. We haven't managed to evacuate all of the bodies," Dwihananto said.
A 70-Year Old Commits Suicide By Slashing her Own Throat
A 70-year old woman, Mrs. Saratu Rahman, aka Iya Ogbomoso, from Offa, in the Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State, has killed herself with a razor blade. Punch correspondent gathered on Monday that the woman, a mother of four, cut her throat with the razor blade.
A neighbour, who identified herself simply as Yetunde, said when she and other neighbours heard Rahman screamed, they rushed to her room and saw her in a pool of blood. She stated that they contacted the police, adding that she was later rushed to a hospital where she was treated for two days before she eventually died.

The driver and security guard of former Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo state who was found dead inside a store in his home in Ijapo estate in Akure yesterday June 28th have given a vivid description of how they killed him.
Bamidele, who was fired by the late don for attempting to steal his car some months back, said he connived with Daniel Ita the security guard to carry out the act. He said Daniel lured the old man out of the main house before he strangled him to death.
