Hundreds of migrants dead after boat capsizes in the Mediterranean sea

                    

Hundreds of men, women and children lost their lives yesterday after a rubber fishing boat carrying around 600 migrants capsized off Libya. According to reports, the boat capsized when the people on board rushed to one side when the LE Niamh got close to it.

"Those that were on deck would have managed to jump, some of them drowned and some of them were saved," said Martin Xuereb of the Migrant Offshore Aid Station in Malta.

Meet the Nigerian man who allegedly beat his mother to death in Texas

                                      

Mother of four, Hauwa Esther Kadima, 61, who was an accomplished professor of languages, and a published author, was bludgeoned to death at her home in Longview, Texas, on July 28th. Her last child, 31 year old Daniel Kadima (left) has been arrested in connection with her death.

Police was called to her home on July 28th and found her beaten to death - a bloody chair was lying next to her body. Police believe it was the murder weapon. She had fractures to her skull with laceration of the brain because of blunt impact to the head, according to autopsy findings. Daniel, who had called police to report a person lying dead in the apartment, was arrested the next day.

Meet the 11-Year old boy who becomes one of the youngest ever to be charged with manslaughter

A very sad Story:   An 11 year old boy has been charged with manslaughter after a three-year-old boy was shot dead at his home. Prosecutors charged the schoolboy with death by weapon aimed with intent but without malice, and using a firearm during a felony. The older boy is believed to have taken a handgun from a wardrobe in a bedroom at his father's home in Detroit and tossed it from a window into the backyard.Later, he reportedly retrieved the gun and got into a car parked in the yard. According to UK Mirror, the three-year-old, named as Elijah Walker, is then thought to have climbed into the car and was shot once in the face, police said.

Meet the Welder who beat his wife to death over alleged adultery

                                      

A welder ,Marufu Olasoji, has beaten his wife, Kehinde Olasoji, to death for allegedly committing adultery.It was learnt that the 35-year-old welder repeatedly hit the wife’s head with an iron until she gave up the ghost. He was said to have sprayed cement on her face and fled the neighbourhood, leaving her in a pool of blood. The incident happened around 8pm on Monday at the Chelsea neighbourhood of the Sango-Ota area. PUNCH Metro gathered that Marufu had turned Kehinde, a hairdresser, who had three children for him, to a punch bag while their 15-year relationship lasted. Our correspondent was told that the wife, aged 35, left the welder with her children three months ago when she could no longer endure the assault.
