Federal Gorverment directs immediate withdrawal of diplomatic passports from unauthorised holders
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Nigeria Immigration Service has been directed by the Nigerian Government to retrieve all valid diplomatic and official passports from those who are not entitled to hold such documents.
The statement signed on Monday, by the Director of Press, Federal Ministry of Interior, Yusuf Isiaka and made available to NAN reads:
Drunk Naval officer allegedly shoots 3 people in Ikorodu
There was pandemonium at Majidun area of Ikorodu yesterday as a Naval personnel allegedly shot 3 people, leaving them in a critical condition.
It was gathered that the incident occurred around 3p.m. at Tipper Park, when the Naval personnel, suspected to have been drunk, allegedly left his duty post to unwind, he visited the park and started playing with his gun, which went off and injured the three persons, who were going about their businesses at the park.

Some thugs allegedly beat up a woman, who was identified simply as Beatrice, and smashed her two-year-old baby against the floor, killing the toddler at the Bajare Camp in the Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Witnesses said that the thugs attacked Beatrice on the instruction of a middle-aged woman, identified simply as Toyin, following a disagreement between the women. One of the witnesses said the disagreement between Toyin and Beatrice led to a free-for-all. He added that Toyin left the scene and came back with some thugs who she allegedly ordered to beat up Beatrice.
Department of State Services charged former National Security officer Dasuki to court
The immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, has been charged to court by the Department of State Services (DSS) for possession of fire arms without a license. According to a statement released today August 24th by the Acting spokesman of the DSS, Tony Opuiyo, Dasuki's action is an offence which is punishable under Section 27(i) (a) (i) of the Firearms Act Cap F28LFN 2004.
