Arik Air Staff Disappears After Visiting Lagos Lover

A worker with Arik Air, Grace Utum, has gone missing after a visit to her lover, Ihuoma Amelogu, who lives in the Ojodu Berger, Lagos State.

According to PUNCH Metro, the 29-year-old Cross River State indigene had left her Ikeja office for her lover’s house on January 1, 2016.

However, her whereabouts had since been shrouded in mystery.

Grace, a graduate of Accounting, University of Calabar, was said to be working in the hospitality
department of Arik.

The case was reported at the Ojodu Police Division and Amelogu was reportedly arrested.

It was learnt that a mobile phone and a handbag belonging to the victim were found in his apartment on the day Grace went missing.

He was, however, released after police said there was nothing to connect him with the disappearance.

An uncle of the victim, Felix Omini, explained that the family became worried after her mother called one of her telephone lines and a stranger picked the call. He said:
“Her mother called her that night and discovered that it was a stranger that picked the call. The stranger said the phone was missing and its owner had called him and said she was coming for it in company with a man.
Grace’s mother called her boyfriend, Amelogu, thinking he was the man the stranger was referring to. But he said he had also been trying to reach her without success.”

Omini said he called 32-year-old Amelogu and together they went to report the matter at the police station.

The victim’s father, Obongha Utum, said Grace and Amelogu had been dating for three years and would have been married, but for a problem with their blood compatibility.

He said:
“The police said we should talk to the boyfriend because that was where she said she was going, but I don’t know what to think. They are church members and were supposed to have been married; but that became impossible after they discovered their genotypes were not compatible.
We have also gone to Agbado Crossing in Ogun State, where she lived with a friend. We didn’t meet anybody in the house; everywhere was deserted.”
When contacted, Amelogu said he last communicated with Grace around 3pm on January 1.

He explained that efforts to get across to her through her friends had been abortive.

He said:
“We were together on December 31, 2015; she slept at my place. She sometimes stayed at my place because her office in Ikeja is closer to my house in Ojodu Berger. She rented an apartment in Agbado Crossing, Ogun State.
Around 6am on January 1, she said she was going to the office. We always had a family reunion every New Year at my uncle’s place in Ajah, so we planned to meet there.
I spoke with her around 12 noon. Then around 3pm, when I was at my uncle’s place, we communicated again and I asked if she was still coming. She said she was rounding off at the office and would soon join me.”
The civil engineer said his girlfriend’s line, however, became unreachable around 5pm and despite calling till 7pm, he didn’t get through.

He said her mother called him from Port Harcourt around 10pm to ask if he had seen her daughter.
“Her mother said she called her and a stranger picked it and said the phone was missing. I was surprised because she (Grace) didn’t call me that she had misplaced her phone.
I decided to call the number myself, but it was unreachable. I kept calling till 2am, when it was switched off,” he added.
It was gathered that Grace’s family contacted a telecommunication company to track her calls, but they were asked to get a court order.

Access to her bank accounts were also said to have been blocked.

The Arik Air spokesperson, Adebanji Ola, confirmed the incident, adding that the company was working with the family and the police to get to the roots of the case.

He said:
“Yes, she works with us. She has not reported for duty for some time now and we were told she was missing. The family and the police have been here and we are doing everything possible to support investigations.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, also confirmed the incident, adding that the police arrested Amelogu and later released him.

She said:
“Necessary police procedure to be done in the case of the missing person has been done. The boyfriend, who was actually the complainant, was arrested and investigated, but there was nothing to link him with Grace’s disappearance, hence his release. But investigation is ongoing.”

The Blackface Allegations : 2face Idibia Sets The Record Straight

This is the official reaction to Blackface's song stealing allegation from 2face Idibia's camp. This is from his manager, Efe Omorogbe. Read below...
When my attention was drawn to Blackface's twitter rant about the "theft" of his songs by his ex-band mate 2Baba, my initial reaction was to ignore what I perceived as an obvious marketing gimmick for his new single. The reaction from a vast majority of people on social media who read about the allegations was evidence that the ploy had backfired.
Blackface's press interviews since the twitter rant has made it necessary for me to present the flip side and set the records straight.

1. 2Baba and Blackface do have a bunch of songs they co-wrote in their days as Plantashun Boiz.
2. Both artistes have collectively and individually recorded and commercially released materials from this collection.
3. 2Baba has always given Blackface (Austin Ahmedu) co-writing credit every time he recorded any song that has Blackface's input - No matter how minimal.
4. Blackface has neither given 2Baba (Innocent Idibia) co-writing credit nor sought "permission" to record any of the materials they jointly authored.
5. Blackface has earned royalties off his shared publishing rights for about a decade.
6. A huge chunk of income he has made derives from royalties earned by the commercial exploitation of the successesful materials performed/recorded by 2Baba.
7. 2Baba did not and couldn't have stolen "Let Somebody Love You" from Blackface.  The song was released about 2 years ago. Blackface complained about his name being misspelt on the CD sleeve and we personally apologised to him.
8. Yes. Blackface contributed to the writing of the first verse of the song. The second verse was entirely 2Baba. Bridget Kelly wrote her verse and Efe Omorogbe wrote the outro verse.
9. Efe Omorogbe is not 2Baba's manager on "Let Somebody Love You" but a co-writer.
10. The outro verse was lifted from the song "How?" written in 1997 and recorded in 1999 at Dolphin studios, Surulere. Blackface didn't write that bit. Couldn't have written that bit. Blackface cannot in 2016, touch Efe Omorogbe's writing from 1997.
11. Blackface should be honoured to  have shared co-writing credit with 2Baba. I am. For each and every song we have collaborated on.
12. Blackface should be grateful 2Baba recorded their co-authored materials to ensure a lifetime of royalty income for him.
12. Blackface should record and release his own version of "Let Somebody Love You" and keep 100% publishing on that version. Oops! 2Baba will still be entitled to a share.
13. Blackface is not in 2Baba's league as a songwriter. Their post-Plantashun Boiz' catalogs speak for themselves.
14. Blackface should go to court to seek redress if he indeed believes he has a case.
15. Blackface should know that nobody ever secured a court judgement via a twitter rant or media tour.
17. Blackface must have realised by now that the unfortunate tirade has not made "Killa" a hit. At least, not at the moment.
We grind our way to the results we seek bro. Just HARDwork. No short cuts!

Why We Transferred Mbaka - Catholic Church Explain

The Leadership of the Catholic Church in Nigeria has explained the reason behind the recent transfer of controversial Catholic priest, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka from Enugu to Emene. According to the Secretary-General of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Reverend Father Ralph Madu‎, Mbaka's transfer was to make him more useful in his service. He refuted claims by Mbaka that his transfer was a punishment and a calculated move to make him suffer.

"‎Mbaka’s transfer is not an exception; the Bishop has the right to post any priest wherever he feels his service would be more useful to the church.

His posting should have been a privilege, not a punishment which the Bishop can do because he has the power. If he says it’s a punishment, then it’s open for further investigation. Posting is a regular thing, a priest can be transferred after two, three, four, or more years. It depends on the discretion of the Bishop. That ministry (Adoration Ministry) is his private ministry. It does not belong to the church. Overseeing a parish is a full time job. Overseeing a ministry is a bigger task. If the church decides to take him somewhere where he’ll have more time to carry out his ministry, how is it punitive? That should not be the language.”he said
Madu said Mbaka had done things that were unacceptable to the church in the past but received no punishments for them.

“He is supposed to be a missionary. What if the Bishop had closed down the ministry , which is within his power to do? Sometimes, transfers can be for the good of the priest as something can be going wrong which he might not be aware of. The Bishop is free to move any priest at any time, it is his prerogative.”

Fr Mbaka is to resume immediately at his new post at the Our Lady Parish, Emene. The priest, who is as fiery as he is controversial, had described his re-posting by the church as a “calculated move” to make him suffer.”
