Church Fined Over Noise Pollution in London
A Church in South London has been fined thousands of pounds for holding noisy 3am services aimed at fending off 'evil spirits, deliverance from sickness, financial hardship and demonic soul ties.'
Magistrates have ordered the leaders of Camberwell’s Kingdom Church, a branch of the Bishop Climate Ministries, to pay £7,740.50. This happened after the Southwark Council was flooded with complaints from nearby residents about the services every Saturday morning.
Church leaders were slapped with the fine at Camberwell Magistrates Court after being found guilty of two charges under Section 80 of the Environmental Protection Act 1980. The church has however decided to appeal the fine. A spokesman said, "It is a big fine and we will be appealing against it. I do not deny that we made some noise – we did. But we have spent nearly ten thousand pounds reducing the noise."
19-year-old Pregnant Female Student Stabs Footballer Boyfriend to Death Because he Posted Photo of Another Woman on Facebook
A 19-year-old University of Nairobi student has been arrested by Police in Nairobi, Kenya, for allegedly killing her boyfriend and father of her unborn child on Tuesday, March 15, following a domestic quarrel at their home in Kangemi.
Kelvin Mugalla Ikatwa, 25, a Bachelor of Arts student at the University of Nairobi and midfielder for the National Super League side, Wazito FC who was fondly known as Razor, was allegedly stabbed to death by Sheila Atemi with a kitchen knife after they had a disagreement over a Facebook post.
According to Nairobi News, it is believed the spat was over a photo of another female posted by the deceased on his Facebook page.
According to Nairobi County Police Commander Japheth Koome, who confirmed the incident, "When the Police arrived, they found the man already dead and the woman was sitting next to the body of the deceased. He had been stabbed in the neck and the knife was also found at the scene."
The body was deposited at the Chiromo Mortuary awaiting pot-mortem as the police conduct investigations. Koome said the suspect was due to be arraigned in court and will be charged with murder.
"The girl has been arrested and is in custody. She will go to court for the wrong she has committed," Koome said.
She was arraigned before a Kibera court on Wednesday. The police asked the court to give them more time to complete investigations. They also told the court they intend to take her for mental examination.
In a press statement, the University of Nairobi’s Wazito Football Club, mourned him as a polished midfielder who was disciplined and committed player since joining the team from Tena FC in 2012.
"Kelvin held Wazito in his heart and gave his all for the betterment of the club and his professional growth," the club added.
Head coach Francis Xavier, described Mugalla as a quality and professional footballer who had what it takes to play for the national team.
"This is a huge loss. We are depending on him to drive our midfield this season. I think he was on the verge of a breakthrough to a Kenyan Premier League team. In a season or two, he would have been Harambee Stars material," Xavier said.
He further revealed that they got the shocking news just as they were preparing for training.
"A Kangemi United player who lives nearby called me to confirm the sad news. Everyone was in shock and we stopped the training."
The club patron Solomon Alubala said: "He was not a temperamental person and when you see it getting to this point, then it must have been something very serious. We are saddened as a team but we will not say much because it is now in the hands of the police," Alubala disclosed.
Family and friends of Kelvin Mugalla are meeting at his home in Kangemi for burial arrangements. Condolences to the family were also shared by Sports Commissioner Gordon Olioch.
"I advise the youth to seek advice on their social problems from older siblings, close relatives and religious leaders. In the worse case scenerio you can quit the relationship".

OMG! Police Detains 8-Year Old Pupil Because The Boy Reported His Teacher (A Police Officer’s Wife) To His Mom
An eight-year-old pupil of Prospect Primary School, Akute, Ogun State, Oyindamola Onimole, has been detained by the Ajuwon Police Division.
It was gathered that Oyindamola, who was held by the police between 6pm on Wednesday and 12pm on Thursday, was arrested by a policeman from the station for reporting a teacher in the school, identified simply as Mrs. Oni, to his mother.
Punch Metro learnt that Oni, who is the wife of one of the policemen at the station, had maltreated Oyindamola at school and the pupil reported her to his mother, Mrs. Nimota Onimole, who subsequently stormed the school and complained about the assault.
After the mother left, the teacher was said to have descended on the child again for daring to report her to his mother.
A source in the school said, “After school hours, the teacher called her husband and he stormed the house of the pupil and arrested the minor.
“When Mrs. Onimole (Nimota) returned from work about 10pm, neighbours told her about the ordeal of her son. She left for the police station to ascertain what had happened. The mother, who went to the police station to bail her child, was also detained.”
Oyindamola’s father, Olalekan Omole, confirmed on Thursday that his wife and son were detained by the police.
He said, “At about 6.30pm, the teacher and her policeman husband, went to our house and forcibly took my son. They used okada (motorcycle) to pick my son.
“When my wife returned about 10pm and got to the station around 10.30pm, requesting to get her child released, she was equally detained at the station. All this happened because of the influence of the teacher, whose husband happened to be a policeman at the station.
“My two remaining children slept alone at home that night. I had to consult a lot of people to wade in and get justice for my family.
“But today (Thursday), at about 12pm, my son and my wife were released by the police.”
Olalekan, who expressed outrage at the detention of the minor, said he would contact his lawyer to take the matter up.
Oyindamola’s father added that he had informed the school proprietor about Mrs. Oni’s alleged misconduct.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said he was not aware of the case, but would investigate and get back to our correspondent.
But he had yet to get back to our correspondent as of press time.

Largest Ever Anaconda Captured in Ecuador(See Photos)
This massive, serpentine beast which is over 17ft doesn't only come from the family of the world's largest snakes. It is specifically the largest ever captured. The capture of the Anaconda is part of a BBC documentary; Tribes, Predators and Me presented by Gordon Buchanan who lived alongside an indigenous Ecuadorian tribe, the Waorani, in the Amazon.
In the show, Buchanan joins a tribal family to hunt an Anaconda, the Amazon's most dangerous predator, the animal is a proven man-eater but the locals believe its capture and release is not only a sign of bravery but see the feat as a source of immense spiritual power.
There is also a scientific reason for the capture as the Waorani are losing their land to oil exploration - with scientists testing anacondas for the effects of oil pollution.
Buchanan lives alongside the indigenous people for two weeks learning their ways and how they have adapted to live alongside some of the world's most dangerous animals including Jaguars. See more photos below...
