21 people Die In India's Landslide Tragedy

                                

21 people have died in a landslide triggered by heavy rain across India’s famed tea-growing region of Darjeeling, with more feared trapped under mounds of mud and debris, police have said.

Rescuers were digging through tonnes of sludge searching for residents after overnight landslides struck homes built on slopes in the towns of Mirik, Kalimpong and Darjeeling in West Bengal state. 

Court Throws Out Agbaje’s Petition Against Ambode

                            

The Lagos state governorship election tribunal sitting in Ikeja, today dismissed the petition filed by Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Jimi Agbaje, against Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress. Agbaje had earlier petitioned the tribunal challenging the declaration of Ambode as the winner of the April 11, 2015 governorship election in the state.

Skuki Brothers Become African Young Entrepreneurs Ambassadors




The Skuki brothers have just been signed as the new ambassadors of Africa's Young Entrepreneurs (A.Y.E). A.Y.E is the biggest network of young entrepreneurs in Africa, and recently just granted N150m to support young entrepreneurs across the continent. Among the patrons are Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, Folorunsho Alakija and Olusegun Obasanjo.

A man exonerated after spending 30 years on death row died just over a year after his release.

                                


Glenn Ford died Monday June 29th after a battle with lung cancer. He was 65. Ford was convicted of first-degree murder in 1984 but was exonerated in March 2014.

Ford would have still been on death row if not for a confidential informant who told police in 2013 that someone else confessed to him about the murder that Ford was accused of committing. Lawyer and friend William Most told ABC News Ford was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer several months after being released from the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola. Most said that it quickly progressed to stage 4 and spread to his bones.
