Man Falls 30ft to His Death While Climbing Building After He Forgot His Keys Inside(Photo)

This is the shocking moment a man plunged 30ft to his death after he attempted to get into his flat because he was locked-out.

It is believed the 52-year-old Ecuadorian man, who has not been named, forgot his keys and they were locked inside his home in Alicante, Spain. He was trying to use a rope to lower himself down from the roof and get in through an open window but tragically lost his balance and plummeted from the third floor.

A neighbour happened to be filming his perilous attempt when he captured the whole devastating event unfold on his mobile phone.

The footage shows how he managed to gain a foothold on the floor above but lost his grip as he
scaled down the outside of the building and began to tire as he dangled in mid-air.

His neighbour can be heard predicting the fatal outcome just seconds before his fall.

He can be heard telling his wife in a running commentary as he records the man climbing down the building with his mobile phone:
“He could easily fall at any moment. He’s reached a window and now he’s got to get to the floor below. Why doesn’t he call the fire brigade or a locksmith or the owner of the flat? He could wear himself out and plunge to the ground at any time.”

His wife bursts into tears and he points his mobile in another direction after filming the dramatic fall and gasping:
“He’s fallen. He’s fallen on the ground. He’s killed himself, he’s killed himself.”
The sound of him crashing on the ground three floors down can be heard over the woman’s tears.
The video is understood to have been recorded on January 11 in the Costa Blanca city of Alicante.

Police confirmed a man died around 6pm that day after losing his balance as he tried to reach his home with the help of a neighbour.

Nigerians React After UK Newspaper 'The Economist' Called Goodluck Jonathan “A Corrupt, Ineffectual Buffoon”

The Economist, an English-language weekly newspaper owned by the Economist Group, described Nigeria’s former president Goodluck Jonathan as “an ineffectual buffoon”.

In an article titled “Nigeria’s economy Crude tactics”, the newspaper said:
Buhari’s government has cracked down on corruption, which had flourished under the previous president, Goodluck Jonathan, an ineffectual buffoon who let politicians and their cronies fill their pockets with impunity.”
Below is the full article. Meanwhile, Nigerians have taken to Twitter to show their disapproval of that statement.

“MORE than 30 years ago, a young general swept to power in the fifth of Nigeria’s military coups since independence in 1960.
The country he inherited was a mess: bled dry by pilfering politicians within and hammered by falling oil prices without. Last year that general, Muhammadu Buhari, became president again—this time in a democratic vote. The problems he has inherited are almost identical. So are many of his responses.
In the eight months since Mr Buhari arrived at Aso Rock, the presidential digs, the homicidal jihadists of Boko Haram have been pushed back into the bush along Nigeria’s borders. The government has cracked down on corruption, which had flourished under the previous president, Goodluck Jonathan, an ineffectual buffoon who let politicians and their cronies fill their pockets with impunity.
Lai Mohammed, a minister, reckons that just 55 people stole $6.8 billion from the public purse over seven recent years.
Mr Buhari, who—unusually among Nigeria’s political grandees—is said to have just $150,000 and a couple of hundred cattle to his name, abhors such excess.
As military ruler he jailed, fired or forced into retirement thousands of bureaucrats whose fingers had been in the till. This time, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested dozens of bigwigs, including a former national security chief accused of diverting $2.2 billion.
The EFCC has a poor record of securing convictions; but a single treasury account has been introduced to try to stop civil servants siphoning off cash. And agencies which may not be remitting their fair share to the state are having their books trawled by Kemi Adeosun, the finance minister.
Such measures are doubly important because the economy is swooning along with the oil price. The sticky stuff directly accounts for only 10% of GDP, but for 70% of government revenue and almost all of Nigeria’s foreign earnings.

Appeal Court Adjourns Ruling in Murder Case Against Actress Ibinabo Fiberesima

An appeal court sitting in Lagos State has adjourned for judgement the appeal filed by star actress and former beauty queen, Ibinabo Fiberesima challenging the judgement of a Lagos High Court which sentenced her to five years imprisonment for causing the death of a Lagos medical doctor, Giwa Suraj.
The embattled actress was sentenced to five years imprisonment for reckless driving which caused the death of one Dr. Giwa Suraj in an auto accident along Lekki-Epe expressway, Lagos State.

The deceased was a staff of one of Lagos state owned hospitals. Fiberesima was fined N100, 000 by an Igbosere Chief Magistrate Mr. O.A. Isaacs but the then Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner of justice, Olasupo Sasore (SAN), felt unsatisfied with the judgement and appealed.
This prompted the state government to take its case to the Lagos High Court. At the Lagos high court, Justice Oluwayemi set aside the option of fine imposed by the Magistrate’s Court and sentenced Fiberesima to five years imprisonment for dangerous and reckless driving.

In her judgment, Justice Oluwayemi held that the trial Magistrate exercised judicial recklessness when he gave the convict an option of fine. The court held that the option of N100, 000 given to the convict did not serve the purpose of justice in the matter and subsequently ordered that the N100, 000 should be returned back to Ibinabo Fiberesima. Dissatisfied with the judgement of the high court, Fiberesima came before the Court of Appeal and urged the court to set aside the five year sentence and restore the decision of the Magistrate Court. At the hearing of the appeal today, the appellate court presided over by Justice U.I. Ndukwe-Anyanwu (Mrs.) adjourned for judgement in the appeal after counsel adopted their written addresses.

The court also directed that the appellant (Fiberesima) who was not in court should appear in court when judgement is to be delivered, adding that, the date will be communicated to the parties.

2 Undergraduates Rape, Rob Job Seeker, Take Her N*de Photos

Lagos State Police have arrested two undergraduates for allegedly raping a job-seeker, simply identified as Nike, and robbing her of valuables in the Igando area of the state.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects, identified as Valentine and Kusimo, allegedly took turns to defile their victim after luring her into a hotel.

Valentine, an indigene of Imo State, was said to be seeing off the 27-year-old with the hope that she would not raise the alarm when Nike suddenly called for help.

The suspects were subsequently arrested and taken to the Igando Police Division.

The incident happened on Thursday, January 14, 2016, on Idowu Ibiyemi Street, in the Igando area of
Lagos State.

A police source told Punch that Valentine and Nike had met on a dating site.

He said:
“Valentine is a 400-level Civil Engineering student of a university in Imo State. He chatted up the lady on the dating site and from there, their conversation shifted to Whatsapp, a mobile messaging application.
The suspect told his friend, Kusimo, about the girl and they decided to trick her. Kusimo, a student of a polytechnic in Ogun State, would sometimes take Valentine’s phone and be chatting with Nike, without the girl knowing that it was Kusimo. Having done that for some days, they decided to invite her to Lagos.”
It was gathered that Nike, an indigene of Osun State, travelled down from Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, where she was based, to the Igando area.

The victim and Valentine scheduled to meet at his house.

PUNCH Metro gathered that instead of taking her to his apartment, the suspect took her to a popular hotel in the area.

The source said:
“The girl did not know she was taken to a hotel because he took her through the back into the room.
The second suspect, had, however, hid inside the toilet. As the lady entered the room, Valentine shut the door and Kusimo jumped out from his hideout with a bottle. He smashed the bottle on the ground and he told the girl to cooperate or they would kill her.
While Valentine had two rounds, the second suspect had three rounds of sex with her. After they had raped her, they robbed her of her BlackBerry and N15, 000.
In order to prevent her from exposing them, they took snapshots of her nakedness and threatened that if she told anyone about her ordeal, they would put the pictures on the Internet.”
PUNCH Metro gathered that after committing the act, Valentine decided to see Nike off.

The victim was, however, said to have raised the alarm, drawing the attention of passersby.

She was said to have narrated what happened to people, which led to the arrest of both suspects.

They were detained at the Igando Police Division, before the matter was transferred to the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.

Another police source, however, said the suspects claimed that Nike agreed to mutual sex with them and only raised the alarm because she was not well paid.

She said:
“How can you leave your place in Ibadan for Lagos and claim not to know what you are doing? It is not true that they raped her. She only wanted to make money off the men, and that was why she raised the alarm outside.
“The suspect said she demanded N200,000 for settlement and she is saying she does not want her fiancĂ© and family members to be aware. She is not innocent.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmus, while confirming the incident, said the police had charged both suspects to court.

“Case charged to court,” she said in a text message.
