Annabell Mbock--- My 3Weeks Experience at the NYSC BOOT CAMP

My First Morning

My Experience at the NYSC boot Camp. In other words I was in solitary confinement am truly sorry y’all I left without any notice and for a long time. The whole situation took me by surprise. I started packing my bags a week to boot camp just to make sure I didn’t forget anything. I packed like I was travelling to Australia, I was so excited, I thought I would get the chance to give y’all daily situation report in camp but I got the shocker at the main gate. I was ripped off my laptop and other gadgets on me only phones could pass in.

I got in to camp that early morning, it was raining and I had to push my heavy bags all by myself I was given a number and finally a room. I entered the room and lo and behold we were 28 in the room 2 persons per bunk one up and one down, I went to a boarding school so I wasn't surprised I just kept on comforting myself Annabell you can do this over over and over again.

We picked bunks and started settling in it was a long day but my life in camp began from that day I finally got out of Camp (jail) on the 1st of April and couldn’t wait to share all the exciting experience and new friends I made with y’all.

The next morning was the swearing in ceremony alot of dignitaries were present but they were mostly representatives, but all the same i was so happy the ceremony was short and straight to the point because we stood under the sun through out the whole ceremony Military style..... GhenGhen!!!!

                           

At this point it was time to start making friends, new faces from different backgrounds,religion, et al. So i said to myself don't be in a hurry watch people closely before making friends. Life in the jungle continued for me, the first week was unbearable, the drills, the bugle sound, the lights-out OMG!!! My freedom was taken away from me and to top it up the Camp commandant told us all that "we had sold our peace to him for 3 weeks" and trust me he was so right.

From the second week my complains and calls to the house had reduced. i was beginning to have some fun and had made friends, we started looking out for each other.

Another thing that kept me going was my room-mates OMG i had the most wonderful and hilarious set of gals in my room. Room 6 gals and DESTINY hymmmmm sealed lips. we always had a trending topic to discuss and laugh about, if you are not in room 6 you are sooooo very very wrong.....LOL meet room six gals everybody.

These lovely ladies made 3 weeks worthwhile, i miss them all so much 3 weeks was so short...... Man O War came and i conquered i tried out almost all the obstacles if not for time ....... i had so much fun participating and i made sure to smile in-case i was falling LOL.....

During the 3 weeks we had lectures one of which is SAED (Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship and Development) they taught us different kind of entrepreneurial skills to help us become Employers and not Employees. But because i love food i joined a SAED called Cocktail Ville and Chops.

For the End of camp ceremony we had inter platoon match pass and i matched for my platoon it was so much fun i was kinda feeling like a soldier.........LOL

We had so many social activities on Camp we had Miss NYSC, Mr Macho, Miss Bold and Beauty, HoneyWell and Golden Penny cooking competition, cultural dancing, Drama competition, NYSC Idol Competition , Athletics and Football Competition. 5 Platoon was the Winner for the cultural dance Competition and am happy to say i was the Director ........

The secret of enjoying any boot camp is PARTICIPATION make sure you partake in anything that interests you and three weeks would fly like three day. I had the best and worst 3 weeks of my life but above all I had lots and loads of fun made crazy new friends and discovered new tricks in life.

Otondo! How is your moral? Are u gud to go?, are u motivated?, copa wee o!, if u re readin dz txt u r wrong. So double up, parade, shun, stand @ ezzz, attention by numba! Scoul 1 remain like that , move 2 d right in 3, right turn, if u forward this 2 oda Otondos u're right.
