This week, Nestlé Nigeria unveiled radio host Toke Makinwa as the brand ambassador for one their products, Maggi . According to reports, Makinwa’s deal with Neslté runs into the millions. She will specifically campaign for one of the Maggi brands, Maggi Chicken.
Toke confirmed the deal while speaking to a NET reporter on the telephone, saying, ‘Yes it’s true, I will be the new face of Maggi.‘
NET sources tell us that Nestlé was actually looking at picking another radio OAP Toolz and were possibly in talks with her but eventually settled with Makinwa because of one simple thing — the latter is married.
‘Maggi’s brand has to associate with a family woman, you know, someone who basically cooks for a family. Toke is married, Toolz isn’t. It’s not rocket science,‘ our source said.
