Over the weekend i was opportune to attend a prestigious award ceremony hosted by NDIGBO LAGOS the awardees for the night include chief Okwute , his excellency gov peter obi, former Anambra state , general Ihejirika Azubike CFR, former chief of army staff, admiral dele ezeoba fomer chief of naval staff,prof Barth Nnaji former minister of mines , princess Stella Oduah former aviation minister , Mr Reginald Chika Stanley former e executive secretary pppra, Mr Reginald Ihejiahi OFR, former CEO fidelity bank pic, Mr Chima Ibeneche former managing director NLNG , Mr Ben Igbokwe former managing partner prince water house west Africa .

It was a grand night, not only was it titled meritorious award and grand reception night for umu igbo that performed well in their chosen profession , the hall at the lobby of oriental hotel and resort was filled with classes of who is who. The occasion was chaired by chief emeka anyaoku , while igwe nnaemeka achebe, the agbogidi nke mbu na africa led the royal fathers Chief host prof. anya o anya , while key note address was read by. prof rev fr godfrey nzamujo .
The award night organised by ndigbo lagos should be excused for some insensitive lapses because it is the maiden edition, but people like 4 star actor prince chigozie atuanya was furious because most of the speakers speak freely in english language in igbo events for igbo people, he lamented that they were losing focus and pride as ndi igbo, while 5 star actor chinedu ikedieze lamented so much that the award night is an igbo affairs and has no business conducting it's business in english , he said it should be conducted in igbo and anybody that did not understand igbo should bear with us for any other ethnic group in nigeria always conduct the affairs in vernacular . adaejiejemba rita edochie was angry that not a single igbo masquerade was invited and yet this is igbo award night.
The occasion closed at about 10.30 pm , owing to oversight from the organiser's , many people left without eating a bite even though they prepared enough food to feed 5, 000 people but they did not direct people to go for diner. My mum always say never attend any party with an empty stomach
