A newborn baby has died after its mother allegedly doused it in a flammable liquid, set it alight and left it burning in a road. Witnesses say 22-year-old Hyphern kemberly Dorvilier got out of her car and stopped in the middle of Simontown Road in Pemberton Township, New Jersey, on Friday night and burned her child alive. Medics rushed to the scene and airlifted the young child, which was still alive and breathing when they arrived, to St Christopher's Hospital in Philadelphia with severe burns.However the baby succumbed to its injuries a short time later.
Neighbor Dave Joseph, 45,told County Courier Times he witnessed the incident, which occurred shortly before 11 p.m. at the unit block of the street. A young woman had gotten out of her car and lit something on fire in the middle of the road, he said.

"Her demeanor was calm. She knew what she was doing,"
Joseph said the woman put out the fire with a water bottle. Joseph's wife realized what was happening and began to scream. The woman attempted to flee, but neighbors stopped her from escaping.
"It was just mind-boggling. It was a nightmare even if you have a strong heart," he said. "Hopefully she'll pay for it."
The baby, which appeared to be a newborn, was still alive and breathing when fire and rescue teams arrived on the scene.
"We thought, hopefully, it would fight. It was fighting all night," said Joseph.
